(Music, into storm--5 sec.)
Rain and thunder!! It is good to be indoors and settled down in a comfortable chair on a night like this. (Pause 3 sec.,--storm and wind) But it is lonely here. Something of the storm outside is in my heart, too!! A Bible!! It is open to the book of Job! What does it say? (wonderingly)
(Job 26:8a) "God binds up the waters in His thick clouds; (28:25b) Yes, He metes out the waters by measure.
(28:26) He makes a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightnings of thunder. (26:14 and C) "Lo, these are but the outskirts of His ways. But the thunder of His power, who can understand?" (Pause 3 sec. -- music)
(26:14B) "And how small a whisper do we hear of him!" (23:3) "Oh, that I knew where I might find Him! That I might come even to His throne of mercy!" --How often this cry of Job's has been my own!
(9:32) "But God is not a man, as I am ... that we should come together in judgment." (15:15B) "Yes, the heavens are not clean in His sight." ( 15:16) "How much less one that is abominable and corrupt, a man that drinketh iniquity like water!" -- How truly these pages speak!
(16:21) "Oh, that one might plead for a man with God, as a son of man pleads for his neighbor!" (pause) Yes, this longing of Job's is in my heart, also. Let me look further. (Turn pages, for sound effect). Here ... I find a verse underlined. (I Tim. 2:5,6) "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and man, even the man Christ Jesus; Who gave Himself a ransom for all." The man, Christ Jesus -- could He be the One Who pleads with God for me--as a priest? (Turning pages) I find another passage:
(Heb. 4:14) "Having then a great High Priest Who has passed through the Heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help us in time of need." Oh, this is it!! Jesus, Jesus only is my priest with God!! (He is ) So holy, though, dare I come to Him directly? (turning pages) Another statement I find:
(Heb. 2: 17) "Wherefore it behooved Jesus, in all things to be made like unto His brethren, that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people." (Paue 6 sec --storm).
The storm outside continues, but in my heart there is peace. Jesus--He is the One Who pleads with God for me. Jesus is my High Priest with God--only He. Though He is holy, sinless, He was made like unto us. I am not afraid to come to Him directly--Jesus pleads with God for me!!!
(Heb. 7:25) "Wherefore He is able to save to the uttermost all them that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever lives to make intercession for them."
