THE HOLY SPIRIT, FAITH AND WORKS

Ten days after Jesus went back to Heaven, the disciples were gathered together in one room. While they were praying, they heard a strong wind in the house. The promised Holy Spirit had come. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to take His place. Jesus knew that man could not live true to God if the Holy Spirit did not live within him. The Holy Spirit comes inside the life of everyone who receives Jesus by faith. The Holy Spirit helps us to know God's truths. He gives power to obey God, and resist Satan. He gives Christians the desire to tell others about Jesus.

Suppose you are listening and you want to become a Christian. God's Word tells us we only become Christians by faith in Jesus Who died for our sins. There is no other way. Good living or going to church, (keeping Saturday or Sunday, or not eating pig, etc.) does not make us Christians. You must tell God you are a sinner (i.e., repent), forsake sin, and trust Jesus to forgive you. Jesus will make you a child of God, and the Holy Spirit will come into your life. You will be born again, and be a Christian.

God's Book tells us that one day Jesus will return. You be ready for Him. After Jesus comes back, He will hold a great court. People who have not taken Jesus for their Saviour will be punished. They will be sent to a place of eternal fire. Jesus has taken our punishment, but if a man does not want Jesus, He must take the punishment of his own sins. If you have taken Jesus for your Saviour and Lord, He has freed you from punishment after death. You will go to Heaven, God's place of peace and happiness forever.

God wants all people to have a chance to go to Heaven. God says every country, people, and language must hear this good news. That is why we give you this good news. Do not forget. You can't buy eternal life. You can't work hard for it. You can't make your own life good enough to go to Heaven. You must take eternal life as a present from God, Who wants to give it to you because Jesus died for your sins. But one thing you must do: you must take Jesus as your personal Saviour. You can do that right now. You can talk to God. Say, "God, I am sorry for my bad ways, my bad thoughts. I thank you for Jesus Who died for my sins. I thank you that Jesus rose, and is coming again. I believe on Jesus as my Saviour, and that He will take me to Heaven when I die."
