I have a dear friend in America whom I met when he was working in Australia as a Missionary. Not only is he a talented musician, but also a deep thinker and a man of God. He regularly ponders on different aspects of life and asks a series of questions to his friends in an effort to come to a conclusion.
I'm excited about my latest project for GRN. It involves re-writing some Bible stories for children in a way that is fresh and has not yet been done. As a writer of fiction, I find this project filled with promise and creativity.
Today I have been working on an article summarising the field-testing results of the Saber. I have poured over many pages of feedback; both technical and practical. Most of the comments come down to the same thing; "The Saber is an amazing resource!" I'm thoroughly excited to be a part of this.
As I sit here with Writer's Block and an incomplete article in front of me, I am forced to address some very basic questions. Who is GRN, and what do we do? It may seem very obvious to those working within the Mission, but defining it eloquently is surprisingly difficult.
I listened to a sermon last week from a powerful preacher in the USA. He likened the state of the church in the Western World to the church of Laodicea as described by Jesus in Revelation. I don't think he'd get too many arguments from Christians today.
I am a Charles Spurgeon fan. I love his fiery, heartfelt and passionate preaching. The way he pleads for mankind to consider their wretched state before God and to embrace His gift of salvation is nothing short of inspiring.
My first blog: how exciting!
Today, the 5th September, is not only my birthday (21 again!!), but my first deputation.
