Umbhalo Weskripthi
My friend, I have a strange thing to tell you. God has asked us a question! Perhaps you say, "But does God not know all things? Why should He ask us a question?" It is true that God does not need our wisdom. He knows all things--the very secrets of your heart are not hid from Him. But He has asked a question because He wants us to consider a thing of great importance.
He asks, "How can two walk together unless they be agreed?" My friend, when you became a believer in Jesus, you left the path of Satan and his evil ways. You asked Jesus to forgive you and to cleanse your evil heart. You opened your heart to Him and He put His Spirit within you. God's life entered you, and now you possess everlasting life. When you die you will go to the good place God is preparing for you. You will live forever there in great happiness.
Now, having left the path of Satan, you are walking the path of Jesus. Although you cannot see Him, He walks beside you. But do you always stay on the path of Jesus? God says, "How can two walk together unless they be agreed?" Jesus says, "Forgive those who have wronged you, for I have forgiven you." But you take the path of anger. God says, "Love your enemies; do good to those who hate you." But you plan evil against them. God says, "Return good for evil and all men will know that you are the children of God." But you do not follow His words. He says, "Do not make it a thing of importance to get many possessions." But you follow the path of greed. My friend, God asks, "How can two walk together unless they be agreed?"
God says that those who walk His path will find that it is a path with light, because Jesus is walking there. He says, "I have led you in right paths."
Are there times when your path is dark? It is because you have not followed the words of Jesus. You have left His path of light. You cannot stay on His path unless you agree with His words. God says if you walk on His path of light you will be at peace with other Christians. If you have sinned and find yourself in darkness - then, call to Jesus in repentance and He will bring you back to the path of light.
Jesus says, "Pray often. Thank God for all that He sends you. This will make your path shine more and more." Are you walking with Jesus on His path of light? If you agree with Him, you will obey His commands.
My friend, do not be fooled. If you are walking the dark path of anger, pride, jealousy, and lying, you are agreeing with Satan. God says that when you walk the path of Jesus, these are the things which will become a part of you: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, meekness, faith.* These things will grow in you until they will be like sweet fruit on a tree, and others will see that which God has made to grow in you. Your life will be sweet and others will want to walk the path with Jesus also.
My friend, God says, "There is a path that seems right to a man, but the end thereof is the way of death." Do not let Satan deceive you. His dark path holds sadness and sorrow and destruction. But God's path is as a shining light that shines more and more with joy and happiness for those who walk with God. Consider well this question. "Can two walk together unless they be agreed?"
*For tribes that have no words for these, change to: God says that when you walk the path of Jesus you will be like a tree planted by sweet (good) water which has good fruit, which tastes good. You will have gladness, peace, patience, friendliness, gentleness, goodness. Others will see that which God has made to grow in you, and they too will want to walk the path of Jesus. (Then continue on with the last paragraph.)
