Umbhalo Weskripthi

Paul and Barnabas were preaching to the people. A man was sitting on the ground listening, who had been lame from his birth. Paul saw that he had faith that he could be healed, so he said, "Rise up straight on your feet." The man jumped up and walked. The people that saw what Paul had done cried out, "Gods have come down to us that look like men." And they called Paul "Mercurio" and Barnabas "Jupiter," after their images. The priest of Jupiter who was in that town brought cows and garlands to the gates of the city. They wanted to offer sacrifices to them. When Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes. They went into the midst of the people and shouted, "You men, what is this you are doing? We also are men just like you and have come to preach to you. Turn about from that which is not straight! Turn to the living God which made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them."

God is in heaven and He does that which He pleases. Gods of silver and gold are the work of the hands of man. They have mouths but cannot speak. They have eyes but cannot see. They have ears but cannot hear. They have noses but cannot smell. They have hands but cannot touch. They have feet but cannot walk; nor do they speak with their throats. Those who make these images are like them. Those who trust in these images are like them. We know that images are nothing in this world. There is not more than one God. He said, "Do not have other gods before Me. Do not make a god, either like unto things above in the heavens or below in the earth or in the water under the earth. Do not bow down before gods or give respect to them, for I am God omnipotent. For there is one God and one go-between between God and man, Jesus Christ, the man."

God appeared in the flesh. He was sinless. He was seen of angels and preached unto strangers. He was believed upon by people in the world. Then He was received up into the house inside the sky. And there is no salvation with anyone else because there is no other name under heaven given to people, whereby we may be saved. The blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son cleanses us from all sin.

God's Word says, "This is life eternal that they know You, the one God, the true one, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new person. All that is old has gone away. Look! Everything is new.
