Corps du texte
In the book of the prophet Job is a verse like this: "Can you by searching find out God? Can you search out the Almighty unto perfection?" It is utterly stupid and useless for a man to seek God by enquiry of his own. For example, if a man wished to journey towards the sun and if, by his cleverness, he were able to reach it, he would be dead by reason of the heat and power of the sun. But when the sun rises, its light spreads out in this world, becoming a very great blessing to all. In this manner, too, we cannot seek out God, the Most High, but God Himself has manifested His glory to us.
When our sun's light sheds its beams into our homes, we see dust in the places which we thought were clean. It is like this, too, when the True Light shines in our hearts. Then we become very conscious of the good and bad. Things that formerly appeared good in our hearts now appear altogether wicked. The teachings of Jesus, which are holy, become the light shining in our hearts. He said, "You have heard that it was said, whoever shall kill, shall be in danger of the judgment; but I say to you, that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of judgment."
"You have heard that it was said, you shall not commit adultery; but I say to you that whoever looks on a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery with her already in his heart." His words which are pure and true, reveal not only outward sins, but also the inner evil in the heart of mankind.
The one who trusts in and follows Jesus cannot continually do sin. Jesus already has revealed God's holiness and loving kindness. His glory, grace and truth are written in the Gospel. It is like the light of dawn. Its instructions have power to bring to your soul tranquility, and life which is eternal.
How can you receive that tranquility of soul and be assured of God's gift of eternal life and happiness? The only way is to believe the words that Jesus spoke, saying, "I am the way, the truth and the life." Place yourself in His hands. Confess your sinful condition and your need to Him. He will receive you, and you will experience the peace that passes all understanding. Eternal life will be yours, and great joy.
