Certo homem tinha dois filhos. O mais moço deles disse ao pai, "Pai', me da a porçao que me cabe dos bens." Entao o pai repartiu lhes os seus bens.

Poucos dias depois, o filho mais moço vendeu tudo que tinha, e viajou para uma cidade dum pais distante. (3 seg.) La gastou o seu dinheiro insensatamente. (Adaptar para ocorrências locais) Depois de gastar tudo, sobre-veio uma grande fome naquele pais. O moço começou a sentir fome. Entao ajuntou-se a um dos homens da-quela terra, o qual o mandou para os campos cuidar dos porcos. (3 seg.) Ele tinha tanta fome que desejava far-tar-se da comida dos porcos mas ninguém dava-lhe nada. (3 seg.)

Finalmente começou a pensar certo. "Meu pai tem muitos criados, e eles todos tem mais comida do que preci-sam, e aqui estou eu, morrendo de fome. Levantar-me-ei, e irei ter com meu pai, e lhe direi, `Pai, tenho pecado contra Deus e diante de ti. Nao sou mais digno de ser chamado o teu filho, trata-me como um dos teus trabalha-dores.'" Entao deixou aquele lugar e foi ter com seu pai. (5 seg.,)

Mas enquanto estava ainda longe, o seu pai o avistou e teve compaixao dele, e correu ao seu encontro. Tomando seu filho nos braços, o beijou. O filho lhe disse, "Pai tenho pecado contra Deus e diante de ti, nao sou digno de ser chamado teu filho." Mas o pai disse aos seus servos, "Trazei depressa a melhor roupa e vesti-o, ponde-lhe um anel no dedo e sandálias nos seus pés. Trazei também e matai o novilho cevado para uma grande festa. Por-que este meu filho estava morto, mas agora vive, estava perdido, mas foi achado." E todos estavam cheio de grande alegria. (3 seg. de sons locais de festejamento)

Esta história foi contada por Jesus para nos mostrar o quanto Deus nos ama.
Ele está a nossa espera, aguardando a volta de nos pecadores. Somos como o
filho na historia, nos todos temos seguido os nossos próprios caminhos, e
vontades pecaminosas. Quando o filho errado arrependeu-se e voltou, o pai o
recebeu alegremente. Assim também, Deus recebe o pecador que vem a Ele.
E por isso que Deus mandou Jesus para nos salvar. Jesus veio achar, buscar e
salvar os perdidos.

Venha a Deus e diga-Lhe, "Deus, sou um pecador, mas creio que Jesus pode me salvar. Eu creio que Jesus so-freu a minha pena, o meu castigo. Me perdoe por amor de Jesus. Eu renuncio os caminhos do pecado. Seguirei somente a Jesus. Quero que sejas o meu Pai. Faças-me teu filho verdadeiro, em nome de Jesus, Amém."
