Introduction

In the last set of pictures we saw many different names for Jesus Christ. We saw how God's Son became Man. He had great power. Why did He leave Heaven's glory to come to earth? What kind of Man was He? What did He do? In this set of pictures we will find answers to these questions. Find pictures 26, 39, 79, 33, 83, 58, 88, 99, 104, 108, 114, 118, 120.

Mark 1:40-45

A man with leprosy came to Jesus. He begged Jesus to heal him. No doctor could cure leprosy, but the man believed that if Jesus was willing, He could heal him. Jesus answered, "I am willing. Be clean." Immediately the man was healed. Jesus had the power to heal a man who had faith in Him.

Picture 39. Jesus Raises a Widow's Son

Luke 7:11-17

Jesus and His disciples went to the town of Nain. The only son of a widow had died and was being carried out for burial. Jesus felt sorry for her. He said, "Don't cry." He went up to the stretcher and said, "Young man, get up". Immediately the young man sat up and began to talk. Jesus gave him to his mother. The people were awed. They said, "A great prophet has come to us." Jesus had power not only to heal the sick but also to raise a dead man back to life. Jesus was a man who had compassion on people.

Picture 79. Jesus Raises Lazarus from Death

Picture 79. Jesus Raises Lazarus from Death

John 11:1-44

Mary and Martha were good friends of Jesus. Their brother Lazarus became ill. They sent for Jesus to come, but Jesus waited two more days. When he came He found lazarus had been dead for four days. Martha said to Him, "If you had been here, our brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask." Jesus answered, "I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies. Do you believe this?" Martha said she believed that Lazarus would rise again on the last day. Mary said the same thing. When Jesus saw the people weeping, He wept too. He cares for us, and weeps with us in sorrow. When they arrived at the tomb, Jesus said, "Roll the stone away." Then He said, "Lazarus, come out." Lazarus came out, still wrapped in his grave clothes. Jesus said, "Take off his grave clothes and let him go." Jesus told the people to do the things they could do. He did the thing they couldn't do. He gave life to a man who had been dead four days. Jesus gives us new life now. Later He will raise up from the dead all those who believe in Him.

Picture 33. Jesus Teaches the People

Picture 33. Jesus Teaches the People

Matthew 5:1-12

Jesus was not only a miracle worker. He was also a teacher. Many peole came to hear Him teach. He taught them how to live. He used many examples. The people listened gladly. We need to listen to His teachings and obey them.

Picture 83. Jesus Blesses the Children

Picture 83. Jesus Blesses the Children

Mark 10:13-16

People brought little children to Jesus to have Him touch them. Jesus loved little children. He said,"Let the children come to me and do not hinder them. The kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. Anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." He took the children in His arms and blessed them. Jesus was full of love and compassion. Just as a child has faith we must also have faith in Him.

Picture 58. The Transfiguration of Jesus Christ

Picture 58. The Transfiguration of Jesus Christ

Mark 9:1-9

Jesus took Peter, James and John with Him up a high mountain. There He was transfigured before them. His clothes became shining white. The prophets Elijah and Moses appeared and talked with Jesus. A voice came from the cloud saying, "This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to Him." Then they disappeared and only Jesus was left there. This shows again that Jesus is the Son of God. We must ohey Him. He is the only way to heaven. Prophets cannot save us. Neither can the law of Moses save us.

Picture 88. Jesus Enters Jerusalem

Picture 88. Jesus Enters Jerusalem

Mark 11:1-11

A week before Jesus was crucified, He went to Jerusalem, riding on a donkey. Many people spread their cloaks on the road. Others spread branches before Him. They shouted, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David." They wanted to crown Jesus as King. They were looking for a king to rule over them and free them from the Romans. Yes, Jesus is the King of kings, the Lord of lords. He did not come to earth to reign as King, but to die for our sins. When He comes again, then We will reign. We can crown Him King of our lives now, and obey Him.

Picture 99. Jesus Washes the Disciples' Feet

Picture 99. Jesus Washes the Disciples' Feet

John 13:1-17

Just before the Passover Feast, Jesus was gathered with His disciples. Judas had already decided to betray Jesus. Jesus knew this would be His last supper with His disciples. He knew that He had come from God and was retuning to God. Even though He had all power, He took the place of a servant. Humbly He began to wash the disciple's feet. Peter did not want the Master to wash his feet. Jesus said, "Unless I wash you , you will have no part with me." He then washed his feet. Why did the One who was Teacher and Lord wash their feet? He gave His disciples an example of humility. He said, "Even as I, your Lord washed your feet, you should wash one another's feet. I have given you an example. No servant is greater than his master." Jesus was teaching us to serve one another. We should not be proud. We should help others. Submit to the Lord. Keep your life clean. Serve others. Then you will have true joy.

Picture 104. Jesus Tried Before the High Priest

Picture 104. Jesus Tried Before the High Priest

Mark 14:53-65

When Jesus was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, soldiers led by Judas came to arrest Him. They took Him to the high priest. The priests were trying to find a reason for crucifying Him. They gave false testimony against Him, but their accusations did not agree. At first Jesus did not answer them. Then the high priest said, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?" Jesus answered, "I am. You will see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of God." The high priest said, "You have heard the blasphemy. He claims to be the Son of God. He must die." The Roman Governor, Pilate, sentenced Jesus to be crucified.

Picture 108. The Crucifixion

Picture 108. The Crucifixion

Mark 15:25-39

Jesus was crucified with two thieves. Why did He have to die? The priests said He must die because He claimed to be the Son of God. The Romans said He claimed to be King. Jesus really was the Son of God. He was the King of the Jews, but they rejected Him. One day He will reign over the whole world. Why did God let him die? God had His plan for Christ's death. The wages of sin is death. We are all sinners. Therefore we all deserve everlasting death. But Jesus paid the penalty for our sins. He died in our place. God provided a way for us to be saved. Only by death can the price be paid. When Jesus died He took all our sins on Himself. He took the penalty that was really ours. What must we do? We must confess that we are sinners deserving death. We must believe that Jesus died in our place. We must accept Him as our Saviour. Then God will forgive our sins. Look at the picture of Jesus dying on the cross. It was our sins that nailed Him to the cross. Are you ready to say, "Thank You, Jesus for dying in my place. I accept You as my Saviour and Lord. Help me to live as You want me to live."

Picture 114. Jesus Appears to His Disciples

Picture 114. Jesus Appears to His Disciples

John 20:19-23

Did Jesus remain dead? No. He was buried, but on the third day He rose again. He appeared to His disciples alive. He appeared to many other people too. Jesus had victory over death. Even though our bodies might die, if we believe in Jesus we will also rise from the dead.

Picture 118. Jesus Ascends into Heaven

Picture 118. Jesus Ascends into Heaven

Acts 1:6-12

During the 40 days that Jesus remained on the earth after His crucifixion (resurrection), He taught His disciples many things. One important lesson was that they should go into all the world and preach the gospel. Then He ascended up into heaven and a cloud hid Him from their sight. Two men in white appeared to the disciples. They said, "He will come back again in the same way that you saw Him go up."

Picture 120. Jesus Will Return

Picture 120. Jesus Will Return

Revelation 1:7-8

Jesus will come back again. Then every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him. He is the Almighty One, the beginning and the end, the One who was from all eternity and will live for all eternity. Those who have accepted Him as Saviour will live forever with Him. Those who have not received Him will be punished forever. We don't know when He will come again. Are you ready to meet Jesus? Are your sins forgiven? Are you living the kind of life He wants us to live? Are you telling others about Him? He is our Lord and Saviour. He died, was buried and rose again to take away our sin. Can you say, "Come, Lord Jesus. Thank you for dying for me."
