1. Dear friend, I want to discuss something with you. It’s an important subject. Do you have time?
2. Sorry, I don’t have time. I have an appointment! I’m in a hurry, I, I…
1. Hey, my friend, stop and calm down. I know you don’t have time to talk to me. But I’m sure you have time for many other things.
(Or, monologue beginning)
Dear friend, I want to discuss something with you. It’s an important subject. But you might be thinking, “I don’t have time. I have an appointment! I’m in a hurry, I, I…” But hey, my friend, stop and think for a moment. I’m sure you have time for many other things.
You have time for everyday work, and for extra work if asked. You have time to eat, time to sleep, time to take a break, and you have time for many other things. If you knew that what I would like to talk to you about is more important than all of these other things, would you have time then?
The Bible mentions a person named Felix, who was a governor while the Apostle Paul was a prisoner. Felix summoned the Apostle Paul and he heard from him about faith in Christ. While Paul was talking about righteousness, integrity and the judgment to come, Felix became very afraid and said, “Go away now, and when I have time I will call you to come back.”
I want to talk to you about the same subjects – belief in Christ, righteousness, integrity and the coming judgment. So, do you have time to listen? Or will your response be, “Go, and whenever I have time, I’ll call you back?”
Anyway, I hope you have time. If you are busy, stop all that you’re doing and make time to think, as this topic is more important than all the other subjects that interest you. What is your attitude about faith in Christ? Do you accept Him as your Savior who died as a substitute for you, carrying the punishment of your sins? And what is your attitude towards behaving in righteousness and chastity in an age full of lusts and immorality? The Bible says, “For the grace of God that saves us all has appeared, teaching us to turn away from evil and the desires of this world, and to live with righteousness, wisdom, and piety in the present world.”
And then, what is your position towards the great day of judgment? – on that day when all the dead, young and old, will stand in front of the great White Throne to give account. Every one whose name is not written in the Book of Life will be thrown into the lake of fire. Whoever is written in the Book of Life will be granted eternal life.
My brother, I am leaving you with these words: “faith in Jesus Christ,” “righteousness,” “integrity,” and “the great Judgment Day.” I hope you have time to think about them and decide your position on them. (Music)
