David was born in Canberra and grew up on the Northern Rivers, where he came to Christ over a number of years during high school. After moving to Sydney to study Computer Science at university, David was challenged by God to consider mission work both locally and overseas.
Over the years spent working as a programmer in a secular context, David has been increasingly involved in his local church and now leads a ministry team to help run the A/V technology, and is involved in local outreach programs. He is also involved with a Christian technology company seeking to help churches with low budgets have access to the best technology to help get the message of the Gospel out.
When David attended the ReachOut missions conference in 2013, the opportunity to work with GRN was a perfect match between the needs and his skillset as a mobile application developer, and a clear answer to his prayer for mission opportunities.
David is the chief architect for the new GRN Application Platform, which is being used to develop an internal application for recordists, researchers and other field staff, and also extend distribution systems such as 5fish and the GRN website. He is also responsible for GRN's web services, and helps maintain the mission's servers.
