Introduction

Introduction

Hello, friends. Do you have the picture book in front of you? If you are ready, let’s begin. (Music)

Picture 1

Picture 1

This picture shows what it was like in the very beginning. It was very confused. There were no people, no animals, trees, or other things. It was dark, and not ordered. But God already existed. (Music)

Picture 2

Picture 2

The book in this picture is called the Bible. God speaks to us in the Bible. The Bible tells us about God, and that God loves people. The Bible points out the way for people to find happiness and peace. (Music)

Picture 3

Picture 3

In the beginning, God made everything. He made all types of trees and animals. And everything that he made was very good. God also created mankind. God made man master over all the animals that He had made. (Music)

Picture 4

Picture 4

The first man was named Adam, and the first woman was named Eve. Adam and Eve lived happily in a place called the Garden of Eden. God said, “You may eat from all of the trees except one. From that one, you must not eat the fruit.” God promised that they would be punished if they ate from that forbidden tree. But Adam and Eve did eat the fruit which God had said not to eat. Adam and Eve disobeyed God. They sinned. You can see Adam and Eve being sent out of the Garden of Eden. They sinned. Therefore, God had to punish them. From that time on, they experienced pain, sickness, and even death. But God still kept on loving them. God promised to send them someday a Savior, who could take away their sin. (Music)

Picture 5

Picture 5

Adam and Eve sinned, and their children sinned. The person holding the stick is called Cain. Cain was the son of Adam. Cain hated his brother, whose name was Abel. Cain sinned. Cain killed Abel. All the descendents of Adam and Eve have sinned. You and I also have sinned. (Music)

Picture 6

Picture 6

The descendents of Adam kept doing more and more bad things. God had to punish them. But there was one man who obeyed God. His name was Noah. God told Noah to make a boat, because God was going to send a big flood. After the boat was finished, Noah and his family went into the boat. Noah also invited other people to come into the boat, but they didn’t want to. They did not believe God was going to punish them. They did not believe God was going to send the big flood. (Music)

Picture 7

Picture 7

After Noah and his family went into the boat, heavy rain fell, causing a big flood. All the mountains were covered with water. If any of the people had wanted to join Noah in the boat, they could not. because God had already locked the door of the boat. Everyone outside the boat drowned, because they did not believe God. Noah and his family were safe, because Noah obeyed God. (Music)

Picture 8

Picture 8

Abraham descended from the family of Noah. Abraham also obeyed God. God promised that Abraham and his wife Sarah would have a child. After they were very, very old, Abraham and Sarah had a boy. The child was given the name, Isaac. God promised that through the descendents of Isaac would come the Savior Who could take away the sin of all people, even your sin, and my sin. (Music)

Picture 9

Picture 9

Moses descended from the family of Abraham and Isaac. Moses believed in God. God told Moses to go up the mountain. There, God gave His laws to Moses in writing. In this picture we can see Moses coming down from the mountain with God’s commandments. God wants everyone to obey His commandments. (Music)

Picture 10

Picture 10

Some of the laws of God which were given to Moses are pictured here. Don’t worship idols or other things. One day a week you should cease from your work to honor God. Children must obey their parents. Don’t kill another person. Don’t even wish for another woman besides your own wife. Don’t wish for the things of other people. God also said, don’t steal, and don’t tell lies. (Music)

Picture 11

Picture 11

In the days of Abraham and Moses, if a person sinned, he had to sacrifice an animal to show he was sorry for his sins. Now, we don’t need to sacrifice animals, because God has sent the Savior to take away our sin. His name is Jesus. He died to take away our sin. (Music)

Picture 12

Picture 12

This is the way Jesus came into the world, to fulfill God’s promise to Adam and Eve to take away sin. On a certain day, an angel of God came to a young virgin named Mary. The angel said, “God’s Holy Spirit will make you have a boy child. The child will be the Savior who was promised by God. You must name the child, Jesus. Jesus is the One Who will wipe away the sin of the world.” The angel also appeared to Joseph, who was going to be married to Mary. The angel told him about the child Mary would have. Joseph never slept with Mary his wife until after the child was born. (Music)

Picture 13

Picture 13

Look at the first picture. Mary’s baby boy has been born. Now look at the second picture. On that same night, the angels of God appeared to some shepherds. One of the angels said, “This night the Savior promised by God has been born.” The angel told the shepherds how to find the baby. The shepherds found Jesus, and worshipped him. (Music)

Picture 14

Picture 14

In the first picture you can see Jesus when he was a young child. At twelve years old, He could already talk about God to the religious leaders. Later when he was a man He taught many people the things of God, His Father. There were people who believed, and there were many people who didn’t want to believe Jesus. But God said that Jesus is His Son, and God wants us to obey Him. (Music)

Picture 15

Picture 15

Jesus has God’s power. Jesus is much more powerful than all the evil spirits and all witchdoctors. Look at the first picture. Jesus healed a blind man. Look at the second picture. Jesus made a dead man live again. Look at the third picture. Jesus even walked on the water. Jesus had many followers who watched what He did and heard what He said. (Music)

Picture 16

Picture 16

Jesus always did good. Jesus never sinned. Jesus spoke about God and taught people to obey God. Jesus taught that all people are sinful. Many religious people did not want to say they were sinners. They were angry. Then they had Jesus arrested. The followers of Jesus all ran away. The soldiers spit on Jesus. They beat Him, and mocked Him, but the Lord Jesus did not resist. This was part of God’s plan. (Music)

Picture 17

Picture 17

Jesus was not only beaten. He was nailed to a wooden cross. That was the custom for punishing criminals in those days. God said the death of His Son Jesus would be the sacrifice for our sin. Jesus took the punishment for your sin and my sin when He died. If we truly say we are sinful, and turn from our sins, Jesus will forgive our sins. Believe what God says. (Music)

Picture 18

Picture 18

After Jesus died on the cross, his friends buried His body in a cave. Then the door of the cave was closed with a big, round stone. Soldiers guarded the cave so no one could steal the body. Three days later, some women who were followers came to the grave, but Jesus was not there. There was only an angel. The angel said, “Jesus has come back to life again. He is not here!” Then the angel disappeared. Jesus is still alive today, and He hears us when we pray to Him. (Music)

Picture 19

Picture 19

After Jesus came alive again, His followers and many other people saw Him and spoke with Him. Thomas, one of the followers, said, “Unless I see the wounds in His hands, I will not believe that He has come back to life again.” Look at this picture. You can see that Jesus came to Thomas and showed him His wounds. Then Thomas believed that Jesus had come alive again, and should be his Lord. The Lord Jesus wants us to believe in Him, even though we haven’t seen Him. (Music)

Picture 20

Picture 20

Forty days after the Lord Jesus came alive again, He invited His followers to a hill. He said, “Now I am going to Heaven. After I go, you must tell all people that I was crucified to take the punishment for their sin. Every person who obeys Me will be forgiven, and later he will live with Me in Heaven. I will also send My Spirit to give you strength.” Then they saw Jesus go up into Heaven. Afterwards, two angels said to the followers who were watching, “One day the Lord Jesus will come back again. That is what the angels said, then they disappeared. Jesus had also told them that He would come back again, to take them all to Heaven to live with Him. If you believe Jesus today, you can go to Heaven, too. (Music)

Picture 21

Picture 21

The cross reminds us of the death of the Lord Jesus. The Lord Jesus never sinned, but was willing to be beaten and to die on the cross, so that He could take the punishment for our sin. After dying, the Lord Jesus came to life again. He is ready to help people who obey Him. When we confess our sin and believe on the Lord Jesus, our sin is wiped away. His Spirit makes us able to obey God, and later, we will live with God in Heaven. (Music)

Picture 22

Picture 22

Jesus said there are two roads, a wide road and a narrow road. Every person is already on the wide road. This wide road leads to punishment and the fire which cannot be put out. If a person believes in Jesus and follows Him, this person enters from the wide road to the narrow road. The narrow road leads to life with God. Do you want to believe in Jesus? If you want to, speak to Jesus like this: “Lord Jesus, I confess that I am sinful. I believe that You died on the cross, to take the punishment for my sin. Jesus, forgive me, and clean my heart so that I can live with God. Thank You, Jesus. Amen.” If you truly speak like that to Jesus, you will become a child of God, and God will be your Father. (Music)

Picture 23

Picture 23

If we believe the Lord Jesus died to take away the punishment for our sins, our sins will be forgiven. Then we can call God our Father because He accepts us as His children. God wants every person, from every tribe and every nation to follow Him. In this picture, we see the Lord Jesus accepting all the people who believe in Him. God also wants you and me to believe in His Son, the Lord Jesus, and become children of God. (Music)

Picture 24

Picture 24

In this picture we can see the Lord Jesus talking with an important religious man, whose name was Nicodemus. The Lord Jesus is explaining that we must be changed in order to get to Heaven. Only the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, can make us like new. We cannot change ourselves because we have already sinned. If we say we are sinful and believe that Jesus can wipe away our sin, God’s Holy Spirit will make us new. If you have asked Jesus to forgive your sins, the Holy Spirit will make you a new person. (Music)

Picture 25

Picture 25

After Jesus died and came alive again, He went home to Heaven. After that, the followers of the Lord Jesus gathered together and talked to God together. Suddenly, God’s Holy Spirit came down upon each one of them and gave them power, power to tell other people about Jesus. The Holy Spirit was their helper. The Holy Spirit helped them to understand the words of God and to do the things which please God. If you have given yourself to God, then God has given you the Holy Spirit, to help you. (Music)

Picture 26

Picture 26

Before a person has believed in the Lord Jesus, he is like someone walking in the dark with no light. After we have believed on the Lord Jesus, we are like people who walk in the daylight, because the Holy Spirit is always ready to help us and show us God’s way in the Bible. (Music)

Picture 27

Picture 27

A follower of Jesus must live according to what the Bible says. The Bible is the Word of God. The Bible says that a follower of Jesus must not commit adultery, must not quarrel, must not steal, must not worship idols or the spirits of dead people. A follower of Jesus is called a Christian. (Music)

Picture 28

Picture 28

A Christian family must live according to the Word of God. A Christian husband loves his wife. A Christian wife honors her husband. The husband and the wife must help one another. They must look after their children and teach them about Jesus. (Music)

Picture 29

Picture 29

God teaches and helps the Christian to love his enemies. The second picture shows a person helping a person from another tribe that hates his own tribe. A Christian must do good to all people, even to people who do wrong to him. (Music)

Picture 30

Picture 30

In this picture you can see two Christians burning their idols and magic charms. A Christian only worships and asks help from God in the name of Jesus. The Lord Jesus is far more powerful than any witchdoctor, idol, charm, or the spirits of dead people. (Music)

Picture 31

Picture 31

In this picture you can see a person who was possessed by devils. He could break every rope and chain because the devils inside him were very strong. That man was healed by Jesus. The devils were forced to come out of him, because Jesus is far more powerful than every devil. Evil spirits and even Satan are afraid of Jesus. He is God’s Son. Don’t worship evil spirits. If you are disturbed by evil spirits, you can ask Jesus to send them away. (Music)

Picture 32

Picture 32

Jesus wants people to obey His word. But in this picture, we see a person who is being tricked by Satan. Satan is offering him a lot of money, some fancy clothes, and other things, so that this Christian won’t obey the Word of God. But the Christian doesn’t need those things. He wants to obey Jesus. Do you always want to obey Jesus? When you don’t obey Jesus, ask Him to forgive you and take away your sin. (Music)

Picture 33

Picture 33

In this picture, you see a young man who had sinned a lot. He wasted the money his father had given him with adultery, gambling, and enjoying himself as much as he wanted. After his money was all gone, his friends left him, and he was very sorry. He came back to his father. He asked forgiveness. Because his father loved him, his sins were forgiven. He was received back again. If we sin, we also must be sorry. We must turn from our evil, and confess our sin to Jesus. Jesus loves us and died to take away all our sin. (Music)

Picture 34

Picture 34

All people can become sick. If you are sick, pray to Jesus. Ask Jesus to help you. Don’t ask help from a witchdoctor or the spirit of a dead person. Jesus is more powerful than everything. (Music)

Picture 35

Picture 35

If a person who has believed in the Lord Jesus dies, his body is buried, but his soul will go to Heaven because his sin has already been wiped away by the Lord Jesus. If a person who doesn’t believe in the Lord Jesus dies, his body is buried, but his soul will be punished in the fire that cannot be put out, because he is still sinful.
If Jesus has taken away your sin and made you a new person, you do not need to be afraid when you die. Jesus will take your soul to Heaven. (Music)

Picture 36

Picture 36

Each part of our body has its own task. The eye is for seeing. The mouth, for talking and eating. The ear, for hearing. If one part is sick, the whole body feels sick. God says that all Christians are like parts of one body. Each person has his own task. For example, singing, cooking, teaching others. But each must do it for the Lord Jesus, and to help the other Christians. A Christian must not say his task is more important than the task of another Christian. All parts of the one body must love one another, and help one another. (Music)

Picture 37

Picture 37

God teaches that it is good for Christians to meet together to worship Him, to pray and to sing. There should be a time in the meeting to share teaching from the Word of God. There should be time to talk to God together. There should be a time to bring gifts for God’s work. The whole body of Christians is called the Church. The group of Christians where you live is also called a church. (Music)

Picture 38

Picture 38

Jesus has already gone to Heaven, but one day He will come back again. When He comes, everyone who believes will be taken to Heaven. Even the bodies of believers who have already died will come alive. But people who do not believe in Jesus will be left, to be punished in the fire. Are you ready to go to Heaven, if the Lord Jesus comes now? (Music)

Picture 39

Picture 39

The Bible says that a branch that does not bear fruit will be cut off and burned, just like in this picture. We expect a tree to have fruit. Jesus also expects fruit from a Christian. That means if you are a Christian, God’s Holy Spirit will make you show love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, self-control, and a willingness to help others. All these are the fruit the Holy Spirit will produce in your life. A person who believes in Jesus will live better than before he was a Christian. (Music)

Picture 40

Picture 40

Jesus said that Christians must tell other people about Himself. We must tell them that whoever wants to confess his sin and believe in Jesus, his sins will be wiped away and his life will be made new. In this picture you can see a Christian obeying the words of Jesus. How about you? Are you going to tell others about the Lord Jesus? Just explain to them what you have already learned.
