Handritstexti
Come! Come with your family.
You, the head of the home, a believer in the Lord Jesus, gather your wife and children together (*) and listen to what I have to say to you. (PAUSE 5 SEC.) That's right! You've done well to come! Sit down! Please hush the baby so that you can hear everything well. (HUM AND NATIVE LULLABY)
You say you love Jesus, that you have accepted Him as your Saviour. Do your next door neighbors know this by your changed lives?
Children, do you obey your mother and father? God's Word tells us, "Children obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord." "Honor thy father and mother (which is the first commandment with promise."
You, the woman, do you love Jesus with all your heart? Don't let it be just a lip confession because God's Word tells us, "Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the Word, they also may without the Word be won by the conversation of the wives; while they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price."
And to you, the man - the head of the home, God speaks to you saying: "Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it; so ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord the church." "And, you fathers, provoke not your children to wrath; but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." "And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart: And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. "
You must ask God to unite your hearts in your home so that His love will abide in you. Set aside a time each day when you can read the Word of God and pray together. Always go to church on the Lord's Day and don't forget the hour of prayer with your fellow-believers.
If you do this you will have much joy in your home and you will be like a shining light. "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven."
