Isi Naskah
It was the custom of the people in one place to have a market one day during the week. At this market the bush people and the salt-water (beach) people would trade their different kinds of food together. Then one day there was a big fight and some men were killed. The market was closed. After the fight the people were frightened to meet each other. They were afraid the people from the other group would kill them. But after some time the salt-water people wanted taro from the bush, and the bush people wanted fish from the sea. The bush people had one man in their tribe whose father was born by the sea and whose mother was born in the bush. Now this man had relations on both sides. He could go to both people and they would not kill him. He talked about making peace. He was the middle man. After awhile, his talk made both groups want to make peace. Then the important men from both tribes came together. The salt-water people brought a payment to the bush people, and the bush people brought a payment to the salt water people. Both sides were happy with the payments and received them from the other side. Then they shook hands, sat down, and talked together. Peace was made. After that the market opened again.
Now this story has a lesson for us. We all have broken God's law. Because of this we are enemies of God. Many people are frightened of God. They do not know how to come to Him. They do not know how to make peace with Him. This is why God sent Jesus to come down to this world. He was born of Mary, a virgin, and took on our likeness. Jesus became a man. Now He has two sides. He is truly God, and He is man, too. Jesus came in the middle between God and us. He did this in order to bring us back to God. But God must have a payment for our sins (badness). That is why Jesus died for us on the cross. He had no sin. Jesus died to make the payment to God for our sins. We have no payment to give to God. Jesus, only, is our payment. He shed all of His blood on the cross to bring us back to God. But there is one thing we must do to make peace with God. We must receive (take) Jesus as our payment for peace with God. Remember when the two tribes made peace. They both brought their payments. If one side didn't receive the other side's, they would still be enemies. If we do not take Jesus as our payment, we are still enemies of God.
This is the way that you receive (take) Jesus. You bow your head and talk (pray) to God. Tell Him the sins (bad things) you have done. Tell him you are very sorry. And ask God to forgive you (take away all of your sins). Then ask Jesus to come into your heart (inside). Tell Him that you want to belong to Him. Tell Him that you want to follow Him always. If you really talk true like this to God He will hear you. If you only speak empty words and not really mean them, God will not listen to you.
It is better that you come to Jesus today. He will give eternal life and you will never perish (lose when you die). And you will be at peace with God.
