Corps du texte
*(1) Have you ever seen a boy fishing on a wharf? He puts a small fish on his hook; then throws his line way.y..y...out in the water. At first he lets his line go slack; then he will jerk it quickly; then he will let it go slack again. Waiting a little he will jerk it again. A big fish will hit the line and he will pull in his catch (fish).
*(1)&(2) Some pig hunters will put food (coconut meat, sweet potato) on a pig track late in the afternoon. They will place it under a tree. When the pig has taken the food several nights, the hunter will go to the place and climb that tree. When the pig comes and starts eating the food, the hunter will shoot the pig. Calling a friend, they will tie it up and carry it back to the village.
*(1) Now we all know that in some of our gardens there are many rats. To get rid of them, we will make traps out of bamboo. Then we will put a little potato inside. When the rat goes into the bamboo and chews on the potato, a small string will catch his body. He is trapped (caught)! *(3)
Man will try and trick a pig, a fish, rats, or many things, in order to catch them. We have many kinds of traps. But did you know that there are many things that come into our lives and try to catch (trap) us? Yes, it is true! God warns us about these, and happy is the man that heeds His words!
One temptation (trial, test) that comes to us is the things we see with our eyes and we want very much. A man was taken to court for stealing clothes in a store. The judge asked him, "Why did you steal those clothes?" The man answered, "I saw the clothes. I wanted them and I took them". The judge gave him thirty days in jail! To see clothes and want them was not wrong, but to see them and steal them was sin (bad). This temptation of the eyes trapped this man and he went to jail for thirty days. This kind of temptation (trial) catches many people.
Dancing and *(4) drinking (strong drink) are big temptations for men and women. When they fall into this trap, much trouble comes to them. Their hearts and minds go away from God and from what is good. Sometimes there is killing. God tells us about Joseph. He is one man in God's book. An evil woman tempted him to sin, but he quickly ran away. God says you stay away from every place where there may be traps for your body to do wrong.
**************
Listen carefully! Satan is your enemy. He wants to trap you in many ways. He says to your mind, "Don't exalt God and His way. Get all that you want! Be proud! Do what you want to do!" Satan is like a dog that makes a lot of noise! When you speak strongly (not curse) to a dog and throw a stone at him he 'yelps' and runs away with his tail between his legs. You speak God's words to Satan. Satan will leave you after you strike him with God's words. Continue to walk God's straight way.
You go around all the bad traps that come to your eyes, your body, and from the Devil. Fill your heart with God's words. Pray every day. And trust Jesus who died for you. He will keep you on the straight way.
*(5) And friend, if you do not belong to Jesus, don't let Satan keep tricking you so that you go to hell (the fire
place). Satan will tell you there is no such place. But God's book says there is! Come to Jesus today. Ask Him to
forgive you and put you on His road to heaven.

*(1) Use only two illustrations that will prove appropriate for the location at which you are working. The fishing illustration would probably be out of place in most mountain areas.
*(2) If the first paragraph is omitted and you start at the second, make the beginning less abrupt in this way: "All of us know that there are many different ways to catch pigs. Some people use rotan to catch a pig's leg. Other people will dig holes and place sharp bamboos at the bottom. Another way is this: 'Pig hunters...etc'".
*(3) Explain type of rat trap typical to area if different from the type in the script.
*(4) Omit "drinking" if it has not been introduced into the area.
*(5) Omit this section if script proves too lengthy.
