Jesus Only

[Scripture Script (We have a number of "Scripture scripts". Joy's idea was to put Scripture together in such a way that it made a complete, understandable message. A brief, simple application would be added. This could be used where missionaries and translators insisted on using Scripture rather than our prepared scripts. Some were used quite a bit; others did not lend themselves to the need, or were too difficult. "Matthew 24" was used a lot and effectively.) Mark 9:7 - And 'God's' voice came out of the cloud saying: This is My dear Son, listen to Him. (Pause 3 Sec.)

Mark 7:21 - `Jesus said unto the people' "From inside, out of the heart of men, come evil thoughts, fornication, stealing, murder, 22 - Adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, impurity, an evil eye, evil speaking, pride, foolishness: 23 - (*) All these things come from inside and make a man unclean. (Pause 3 sec.)

Mark 2:17 And Jesus said unto them, "Those who are well do not need a doctor, only those who are sick: I did not come to call righteous men, but to call sinners to turn from their sins."

Mark 8:34 - If any man wants to follow Me, let him say "No" to himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me, 36 - For what profit does a man gain if he should win the whole world, and lose his own soul. (*) 38 - For whoever among the unfaithful and sinful men living today is ashamed of Me and of My words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with His holy angels. (Pause 5 Sec.)

Mark 9:2 - And after six days, Jesus took with Him Peter, James and John, and led them up into a (*) high mountain, where they were alone; and He was completely changed before them. (Pause 3 Sec.) 3 - His clothing became shining, and very white; whiter than any cleaner on earth could make it. 4 - And Elijah and Moses appeared before them, talking with Jesus. 5 - And Peter said to Jesus, "Master, let us make three shrines, one for You, and one for Moses and one for Elijah". 7 - (*) And a cloud came over and shadowed them: And a voice came out of the cloud saying, "This is my dear Son: listen to Him!" (Pause 5 sec.) 8 - And suddenly, when they looked about, they no longer saw anyone but Jesus only with them! (*)' Jesus, Jesus only.' (Pause 3 Sec.) `Jesus, God's dear Son - listen to Him only. This is His Father's command.'

APPLICATION NO. 1 - 'Jesus only can save you. Neither angels nor apostles nor saints can do it. He is the only One Who bore our sins for us and we are complete in Him. We have but one God. He is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus tells us plainly: "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by Me." Tell Him that you accept Him now as your only sufficient Saviour. Thank Him for saving you from all sin. Then begin to follow Him.'

ALTERNATE APPLICATION NO. 2 - If Scripture application is desired in place of above, use Acts 4:10-12 -or at least Acts. 4:12: "Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under Heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved." -'Only Jesus.'
