We have recently discovered the Global Recording Network Church pastored by Pastor Kakalel! Recordings were made in the Turkana language during the late 80s and early 90s. Pastor Kakalel used them as he started a church that was named in our honour. And we knew nothing about it until recently!

Then a couple of years ago David Angango, the Programs Manager from Good News Radio 90.1FM in Kenya, contacted us to ask permission to broadcast our Turkana recordings. Of course we were pleased to give it!
David reported in Feb 2026: “As often happens, technical problems made our start erratic. We have stabilised and wish to report that the content you availed to us is of the only kind available among the Turkana today. In fact, your content stands out in ministry. We thank God for you.”
They used GRN’s recordings extensively on their community radio station in Lokichar, the heartland of the Turkana speakers. Through this, David met individuals who were involved in the recordings way back in 1990s and there was tremendous joy that the recordings are being utilised in this manner! When made, the region didn't have FM radio stations. Now, there is greater access to the content and a desire to make fresh recordings.
