Script Text
(Introduction: work song - for carrying leaves, or any other appropriate activity)
1/ There go our women. They are taking leaves to the village.
2/ They will take the long path because it is a time of heavy rains.
1/ Many paths are flooded. But they will take the good one.
2/ You know, God's Book tells us that there is only one good path to heaven.
1/ We know that God's way is good, but many people do not follow it because it is hard (uphill). Unless a person is willing to leave his bad ways, he cannot follow this good path. He must refuse stealing, lying, bad dances, sorcery, witchcraft, hemp, drink, all kinds of uncleanness.
2/ Can people from all tribes walk on this road to heaven?
1/ Yes. Some people of all tribes are following this path. They are people who have listened to God's Word, and have received Jesus Christ to be their Saviour.
2/ Listen to these people! They are walking on this road to heaven. (Hymn sung).
1/ I'm so glad that I found this road to heaven.
2/ Yes. And now that we have found the path, let us help others to find this good road.
1/ We know that we are used to guiding one another through the forest. When we come to drop-spears (traps) we warn others behind us to avoid this danger.
2/ Also we warn others regarding elephant pits. (Make this adaptable to local situation). We never play pranks about these real dangers. If we did, someone might die.
1/ And likewise Jesus warns us not to stay on the bad path because it goes to the place of fire.
2/ Yes. May people everywhere know about this danger.
1/ May they know also that Jesus shows us to take this good path.
2/ He shows us plainly, too, just as we show one another. We place leaves to point out the right path, and we break saplings to block off the wrong path. Likewise, Jesus Christ wants to hinder us from following the bad way, and He is continually showing us the good way. Is it not so?
1/ Yes, it is so. Because the Word of God plainly says to us, "Husbands, love your wives; children obey your parents; wives submit yourselves unto your own husbands. Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, forbearing one another, forgiving one another, if you have a quarrel against any. Even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. (And above all, put on love, and kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long suffering. Col. 3:19, 20, l8, l5, l3)
2/ Oh, listen!! Some of our people are working in their (masters') gardens! (Pause for work song)
1/ Yes, and Jesus says to us, "Whatsoever you do, in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him." (Col. 3:17)
2/ And remember, Jesus Christ Himself gives us the strength to walk His good path.
