The Matambwe are a sub-group of the large Makonde people group. They live in SE Tanzania, with some near a river bordering Mozambique. On the surface they practice Islam but really they are animistic, practicing their traditional religion which centers on venerating their ancestors.
The very first Scripture stories have now been translated orally by Wycliffe South Africa, and are now available in Matambwe. GRN South Africa has now published these recordings on 5fish.
