THE SACRIFICE FOR SIN
Although God gave His holy law to man, they continued to disobey Him. God promised that one day He would send His one Son, Jesus, to come into this world. He would make one complete offering for sin. The sacrifice of sheep and bullocks would end when Jesus made His sacrifice for sin. God's prophets said Jesus would come and be born of a virgin woman. Everything God's prophets said in God's Book, happened.
Jesus was born of a virgin named Mary. When Jesus became a man He did many wonderful things. He raised to life men who had died. Jesus made sick people well. He made the cripple to walk, the blind to see, and the deaf to hear again. Jesus had power to make these people well again. Soon many people followed Jesus and believed He was God's Son. Eventually the chief people became jealous of Jesus. They were afraid that everyone would follow Jesus and not obey them. They planned to kill Him. One night Judas led many soldiers out to a hillside to arrest Jesus. Jesus let them take Him. They knew Jesus was a good man. Many people, who were enemies of Jesus, shouted, "Crucify Him, crucify Him" (Kill Him on the cross). The High Commissioner feared the people, and let them take Jesus to put Him to death.
It was not right for Jesus to die, because His life was without sin. But this is why Jesus came down to the world. He gave Himself as an offering for man's sin. Jesus is a better sacrifice than a sheep. The blood of sheep only covered sins. The blood of Jesus cleanses away all sin for all time.
The God of heaven does not want a pig (fowl, etc.) for a sacrifice. He no longer wants a sheep. God sent His Son, Jesus, to die. This sacrifice was for the sins of the world. God said all other sacrifices were finished. The blood of His Son, Jesus, was perfect. No other sacrifice was good enough.
Have you broken God's law? Trust Jesus now. Ask Him to control your life. He will receive you, forgive you and give you eternal life.
