Text del guió

A man went into a shop to buy some grain. When the shopkeeper started to weigh the grain, the customer said, "Brother, please show me your scales. Don't give me short weight."

The shopkeeper became angry at this, but he emptied his scales and showed them to the customer. The two sides were not equal. Ashamed, the shopkeeper quickly adjusted them and gave the customer full weight.

Most purchasers watch to see that both sides of the scales are even. They make certain that the shopkeeper does not use false weights or press the beam down with one finger. Not all shopkeepers are dishonest. There are some who give full measure, or even a little extra. But it would be difficult to find one who does not give short measure at times.

But there is Someone Who never gives short measure. His scales are exactly true and even. His weights are accurate. He always weighs out the right amount - never more, and never less. This One is God, Whose scales never need to be adjusted. God rewards every man accurately, according to his works.

What a fearful thing it is that every one of your works and every single word will be weighed by God on His scales. Perhaps you think, "I won't be punished. I have done many works of merit. Whenever a beggar comes to my door, I give him some grain. I give food and clothing to the poor people in my village."

But in God's sight, all these works are sinful, because your motive was not right. You did not repent of your sin. You considered your works good, and were proud of them. You trusted in your own goodness. But whatever you do is sinful, because good works cannot come out of an unclean heart.

You may think, "I'll obtain salvation in another life. I'll be born over and over until I get salvation."

This, too, is a lie of Satan. A man is born into this world only once. After he dies, he is judged by God. He is not given another opportunity.

When God tries you in His scales, He will look for your name in His book of life. If your name is not there, you will be cast into the lake of fire.

The only way to have your name written in God's book of life is to believe upon God's Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. He died for your sins and rose again. If you repent and accept Jesus as your sacrifice for sin, He will cleanse you by His blood. Your name will be written in God's book of life. Then you need not fear judgment in God's scales, because your record before Him will be clean.

Believe in the Saviour today, so your name may be written in the book of life. You do not need to wait. You can do it now. Confess that you are a sinner and ask Jesus to cleanse you and give you peace.
