Hearing the good news on tape

SOUTH AFRICA

We congratulate GRN South Africa (known locally as Good News Media) on celebrating its 45th anniversary this year. The center reaches far beyond its borders to countries such as Mozambique, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Zambia.

KENYA

Around Lake Victoria are many groups of women living in extreme poverty. The fish trade is the only major occupation in the area. Women who cannot afford to buy stock for each day often resort to fish-for-sex with the fishermen. This practice has caused the HIV/AIDS virus to spread like wildfire. Many men have died leaving widows and orphans in desperate situations. GRN Kenya plans to distribute a special AIDS evangelism tape to bring about an AIDS awareness and to point these women to Christ.

David Elliott

CANADA

GRN Canada recently appointed David Elliott as its new director. David has served with GRN for five years and succeeds Roy Grant who has been the director for 12 years. Join us in praying that the work will continue to grow under David's leadership.

USA

Our office will play host to the GRN executive committee which will meet here in the Temecula area from October 18-25. The ExCom is comprised of the regional coordinators from Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania. Launching the 10K Challenge initiative will be one of the many topics on the agenda.

Papua New Guinea

Missionaries write, "We thank God for the tapes and picture books of the 'Good News' that are used here to tell the gospel to the Korowai people. They are really useful. Two Korowai people have given their lives to Jesus."
