Allan and Sue Starling are missionaries serving Gospel Recordings in the home office in Temecula California.

Allan grew up in South Africa and after his conversion through the ministry of a Baptist church there, God led him to Gospel Recordings. He attended Bible school for two years, and then worked for a year at the Cape Town office. He was invited to come to the LA office for 'six months'. That has stretched into 42 years! Sue and Allan were married in Los Angeles in 1968.

Sue has been with the ministry for 45 years. She heard about Gospel Recordings while attending Prairie Bible Institute in Canada. Joy Ridderhof's testimony in the book "Faith by Hearing" touched her heart and gave her the vision of sharing the Good News around the world while helping in the home office. Her joyful and sensitive spirit is an encouragement to all the staff and her heart for the lost is evident to all. She continues to serve in the hospitality area sharing their home and meals with friends, family and GRN guests.

Allan serves on the GRN USA Board, and is currently the Deputy Executive Director for the USA and the Language Tracking Mobilizer for GRN International. His gifts in administration, and research are valuable tools that Allan uses in his service to the Lord. His work is vital to the recordist's task of seeking out the least, the last and the lost, giving the field workers the best information available for the language groups. Allan has traveled to many countries all over the world faithfully helping others in GRN.

Allan and Sue have three adult daughters: Jennifer, a computer software scientist, and her husband live in Lake Forrest, California; Wendy, a mechanical engineer with the Coast Guard is presently stationed in Alaska; and Heather, a full-time mother and home-maker.

As a guiding light on their walk with God, the Starlings appreciate the constant reminder from Isaiah 55:8,9 that: "God's ways are not our ways, neither are His thoughts our thoughts. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than yours and my thought than yours." Their request is that they would walk worthy of the calling with which they were called. (Eph. 4:1)

Allan and Sue appreciate the prayer support of faithful prayer partners. Your prayers for their ministry will encourage and strengthen their service for the Lord. To receive updates, request the "60 Seconds Update" by sending them your email address.

Faces of GRN - Behind the Reception Desk

In one sense, the job is the same as that of a receptionist in any office. But being a receptionist in GRN is a ministry.
