"The message brought hope, peace, and confidence to their hearts, so much so that they asked for more tapes for their friends and relatives."

It is sometimes difficult for those of us who live in progressive countries with many technological advances to fathom the importance and effect that a recorded biblical message can have in a developing or restricted country. These messages, often available only when played on hand-wound recorders, bring hope to people who need encouragement, to people who have never heard the good news of forgiveness of sin and the free gift of salvation in Jesus.

In an area of the Philippines where American missionaries were recently martyred by Muslim terrorists, recorded gospel messages on cassettes in the local language encouraged and amazed people. The message brought hope, peace, and confidence to their hearts, so much so that they asked for more tapes for their friends and relatives.

Another way recorded messages are influencing the world is in the ministry to children world-wide. One third of the world's population is younger than 15, and 85 percent of them live in the developing world. Simple evangelistic stories are easy for them to understand.

Pray that these recorded messages will find fertile ground among Filipino Muslims. Pray for translators, couriers, and other Gospel Recordings workers in often war-torn areas to have courage and wisdom when questioned by local authorities. Pray for God to raise up the right people to extend Gospel Recordings' ministry into new places. -JS
