David and Veronica Lim

Gospel Recordings Singapore (GRS) is a partner mission that has worked closely with GRN for many years. Its director, David Lim, comes from a Taoist family. His grandfather was a Chinese medium who daily made contact with evil spirits. David grew up fearing death and feeling spiritually empty. He looked into other religions such as Islam and Hinduism. None of them satisfied him until one day a neighbor boy invited him to church where he found Christ as his Savior.

Years later, while on a business trip to Malaysia, God exposed David to the unreached tribes and called him to be a missionary. Answering God's call, he joined Operation Mobilization (OM), serving on the ship Logos. While visiting such places as Iran and Afghanistan, he wondered how those living in the deserts and mountains would ever hear the gospel.

Soon after that God gave David a vision to start a cassette ministry to reach tribal people. He didn't know how to go about this until he met a worker from Gospel Recordings at an OM conference in India. Upon hearing about GR's materials, David said, "This is it!" Interestingly, his future wife Veronica was also with OM. While in the Middle East she met some Bedouins who spoke only Arabic. Unable to communicate the gospel with them, she wished that she had some taped messages to offer.

David eventually returned to Singapore to attend Bible school and then to marry Veronica. In 1982, David and Veronica visited Gospel Recordings in Los Angeles to get better acquainted with the work. During that time David fell in love with the ministry and decided to apply for staff membership and officially start a Gospel Recordings Singapore base.

Although they had no income, David and Veronica trusted God to provide for them and for the work. And indeed God has proven faithful in providing for both work and workers over the past 28 years.

Since the inception of the work in 1983, GRS has supplied recordings to Burma, Kampuchea, Vietnam, China, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, the Middle East and beyond. The gospel has touched many tribes in these countries and the angels in heaven are rejoicing over the salvation of many souls.
