From the GRN Australia Director - May 2007

Having recently read Philip Yancey's excellent book on prayer, it seems a bit presumptuous of me to take up this topic in about 150 words! On the other hand, the question can be answered with a single resounding "YES"!

Does prayer always work the way we expect it to? No! Do answers come when and how we would like? Again the answer is 'no'. Do we understand prayer? I don't know about you, but I don't!

I must admit, I cannot often draw a direct line from a prayer prayed, to an answer given, but I believe in prayer - for 2 reasons: firstly, from my own experience, and the experience of others - I have often been blessed and helped through the prayers of many. Secondly, the Bible bears ample testimony to the importance and value of prayer.

In prayer we seek to align ourselves with the will and purpose of God and seek the glory of His name.

GRN is dependent on the prayers of God's people. Frequently God chooses to work in response to the prayers of His people.

This makes YOU a vital part of this ministry. Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel and please continue to lift GRN before the throne of God. And may God continue to bless you as you do.

Yours in Christ,

Graydon Colville

"He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favour granted us in answer to the prayers of many." 2 Corinthians 1:10,11. (NIV)
