"I would do it again" - Kenton 2011

Short-Term mission has its critics, and some criticisms are justified, but if the mission is well organised and if good orientation, leadership and debriefing is provided, there is great potential for good - for the participant, for the sending church and the 'receiving' group. GRN offers several short-term mission options, some of which can be tailored for the needs of particular churches and Bible Colleges.

Bangladesh

This mission offers many different options for involvement including working with children, IT and mechanical vocational training, medical services, ministry to the majority population and observing and sharing in GRN recording and distribution ministry, along with the usual learning opportunities relating to the religion and cultures of the host nation. This option also has great flexibility for timing and the size of the group that goes.

Pakistan

If enough Christians with courage can be found! Using a combination of sports ministry, kids programs and other elements, get a close up view of what it means to be God's people in this difficult place. Share God's heart for the oppressed and the small tribal minorities. Learn to pray for the lost!

Recording in PNG

In partnership with SIL a 'taste it and see' recording experience is offered in Milne Bay Province. Designed especially for Bible College students but open to others with an interest in using audio technology to get God's word to those who otherwise will probably not receive it.

Peru

Very much the same kind of thing as Nepal except in Peru! These teams normally go in July, and it is helpful though not essential if you can speak Spanish. Both the Peru and Nepal trips can be physically demanding and require a reasonable level of fitness.

Mexico

For more than 10 years, GRN Mexico has been running a mission throughout February that reaches thousands of tribal Indian families working in the crop growing areas of Culiacan. Hundreds have come to Christ over the years. Spanish is a definite advantage for this one but not essential.

"These people are very needy in many ways. They have few material possessions and often a family packs their things in a few feed sacks. But their spiritual needs are even greater. Many have never heard of Jesus; the whole Bible story is new to them. They have lots of questions after seeing the Jesus film. They request prayer. They are grateful for the CDs we hand out, as many do not read any language; they are grateful that God cares about them enough to send a few clumsy missionaries to show them a movie and share the good news with them."

Nepal

"Trekabout"Trekabout Nepal" has been running each January for three years. In partnership with GRN Nepal, team members learn about the culture and religions of the country, experience life in a developing country, observe local and international Christian ministries, work with churches, share the Gospel using GRN materials in the local languages and are challenged and grow in their own walk with God while trekking through one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

"I enjoyed the trip. There were difficult times or things to deal with but I loved being in Nepal and experiencing their culture and sharing with the people about Jesus. The highlight for me would have been seeing people's faces as they began to understand the message they were hearing and processing it."

Trekabout Nepal 2012

"I was amazed at the people's openness to the Good News, even the Hindu leaders and Police! The whole experience was so eye opening, fun, full of purpose, mind blowing, encouraging, and I would do it again. Anyone who desires an enlarged view of God and the world should experience a trip like this."

Kosova

Join with our UK director in late May 2012 and see a side of Europe the tours won't show you! Share the Good News and bring healing, help and hope to the forgotten poor of the Balkan Region.

"Kosova was on our TV screens in 1999 when over 10,000 men and young boys were killed leaving many widows and children traumatised and their lives in ruins. We have been visiting there over the last 4 years and have been blessed to try and bring hope to those we meet when we go. We go to share Christ's love with whoever and from any background and provide them with some aid and support. Most importantly we give them recordings of the story of Jesus in their own language showing that God loves them and has not forgotten them."

Team leader

Philippines

Work with GRN Philippines in April 2012 to share the Gospel with the tribes of Northern Luzon.

"We stopped at last in the small village of Colayo. There were about 500 adults and 150 children there. The team showed the Prodigal Son film. The people were amazed to hear the stories of Jesus in their own language. The following morning a man approached one of the team members. He wanted to accept Christ as his own Saviour and Lord. In total, 300 families plus many individuals from the different language groups, received GRN materials."
