From the Director,

The work of the Kingdom of God is largely carried out by people who work faithfully, with little public recognition. They work, not for the praise of men but for the glory of God, knowing that their reward is in him.

In last month's "Rejoice" we reported the 'promotion to Glory' of Gordon Beaver, Stan Weekley and Joan Wilson. Gordon served on the Board of GRN for 32 years including 19 years as Chairman. In addition, the plastics factory he ran in his 'business life' generously supplied parts for the hand wind "Messenger" cassette players manufactured at Eastwood and Castle Hill. He maintained a keen interest in the mission right up to the end of his life. Stan was a Board member for 17 years. He watched over the accounts and maintained a close interest in the mission. Joan was an enthusiastic volunteer who helped out in many departments of the mission over 7 years.

These three made a great contribution to the mission and we thank God for them. But they are just the tip of the iceberg! There are hundreds more like them: people who have served on the Board, as staff members, volunteers in the office or factory, some have represented the work in different places, and many like you who have laboured in the work of prayer. Many may never be acknowledged publicly - and most don't seek it anyway!

Truly the Body of Christ is made up of many members each one with a different function but together carrying out the purpose of the Head, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We at GRN give thanks to God for each one and rejoice in the knowledge that God rewards and blesses his faithful children. Rejoice with us. We are privileged to be the children of such a wonderful God and it is an honour to serve him.

In Christ,

Graydon Colville
