Siberian coworkers recording the Tuvan language
SIBERIA: "My father is an alcoholic"
The GRN team in Siberia is seeing a growing vision for recordings in local languages and a burden for more of the Siberian Nations to hear the gospel. New recordings have been produced in Buryat, Sakha, Tuvan and Khakas. A Sakha believer shared a testimony on one of the recordings entitled, "My father is an alcoholic." He told one of our recordists that it is not uncommon for 95% of the adult population in many Siberian villages to be alcoholic. Can you imagine what your community would look like if 95% of the adults living around you were alcoholic? Where is the hope? Only in Christ! This powerful testimony along with other gospel messages is now being distributed widely.
NEPAL: Providing seeds for growth
Three out of four people in Nepal don't read and 122 minority languages are spoken. Since the GRN work started there over 25 years ago, about 100 heart languages have been recorded and evangelism cassettes distributed. This has been a good help to the church. Two Nepali pastors recently wrote: "By sharing the gospel in their language we have started a fellowship with seven households. In another village, five families accepted Jesus. We are thankful to GRN for providing the players and seeds for us."
SABER: A new mp3 player for missions
Progress continues on bringing the Saber handwind mp3 player to production. Final refinements are being made to the circuitry and firmware. Work on the plastic molds is nearing completion and other parts are being obtained. The GRN center in Sydney is planning a pilot run of 500 units for evaluation and promotional purposes. Full-scale production is expected later this year. We are excited about this project and the great benefit it can be to GRN and to other missions.
