Today I have been working on an article summarising the field-testing results of the Saber. I have poured over many pages of feedback; both technical and practical. Most of the comments come down to the same thing; "The Saber is an amazing resource!" I'm thoroughly excited to be a part of this.
One feedback form in particular has me fascinated. It is an email from Southern Africa, by a missionary who has distributed Saber's in Tanzania, Burundi and DR Congo. His response was great. From a visit to a Maasai Market he shares, "The people were enthusiastic about it and loved listening to it. To use it was easy to understand for most of them. I have attached a few pictures from that visit to the market. You can see people listening, and also listening while the Maasai women are loading their donkey's at the market, and the men waiting to have their goat meat grilled. I really see great potential in this player".
Along with the encouraging report came a series of the most incredible photo's which will be added to our website at some stage. One of the photo's showed the Maasai marketplace, mud huts in the background, and donkeys at the fore of the picture with a Saber strapped on one of the animals. The Saber was almost ridiculously out of place, whilst being right at home at the same time. It's ruggedness, and toughness made it the perfect player for such a harsh and dry environment and the message it carries is one of eternal value. It is the gospel of Jesus Christ in the heart language of the Maasai. It is photo's like that which fill my heart with so much joy and pleasure! Joy because these people are hearing the salvation message, and pleasure because I am a part of something so rewarding.
