How to pray for The 10K Challenge

Here are some suggestions as to how to pray for GRN as we undertake this 10K Challenge. We suggest you keep these with your Bible and prayer materials and cover these requests on a regular basis. Your prayers will help prepare the ground for the seeds of the gospel to be sown and for them to bear fruit as the hearers come under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Preparation

"Build up, build up, prepare the road! Remove the obstacles out of the way of my people." Isaiah 57:14

• This is spiritual warfare; pray that the enemy will be bound as he seeks to keep the lost in darkness.
• Pray for many more recordists to be recruited, trained, equipped and sent out.
• Pray for those doing research to identify which groups have the greatest need.
• Pray for the practicalities of getting to these groups - coordination, travel, visas.
• Pray for partnerships with other believers and agencies in the area.
• Pray for good contacts with village elders as their approval is usually needed before recording can begin.

Recording

"And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?" Romans 10:14

• Pray for the right timing and the right priorities in recording the languages that have little or none of the gospel in their heart language.
• Pray for bilingual language helpers who have good speaking voices, are intelligent and are willing to tell the truth of the gospel on recordings.
• Pray for health and protection for the language helpers and the recording team as they work on recording the Good News.
• Pray for the salvation of language helpers if believers are not found to do the work.
• Pray for the back-checking process, by another bilingual person, which ensures that the recording is a faithful presentation of the gospel for that language group.

Technicalities

"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news." Romans 10:15

• Pray for the recording equipment to work well as the sessions progress.
• Pray for the editing and processing of the recordings and then duplication for distribution.
• Pray for an adequate supply of hand wind cassette players, or regular players if sufficient electricity is available, for the gospel message to be heard.

Follow-up

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13

• Pray for good relations with village chiefs for distribution of the recordings and follow-up.
• Pray for the spread of the gospel throughout this group, and for the establishment of an indigenous church.
• Pray for local believers who would nurture new converts.
• Pray for a movement of God's Holy Spirit throughout the whole language group and then beyond to their neighbors.
