Modern communications are a wonderful thing! I recently spent an hour talking to my fellow Director in Pakistan on "Skype" (a computer-based telephone system) and it cost nothing! During the conversation he reminded me of the spiritual conflict in which we are involved. He spoke of people groups in his country in the grip of spiritual darkness - where the light of the Good News of Jesus is yet to really penetrate. And he asked us to pray.
Later it came to me: prayer is even more wonderful than Skype! To begin with I don't need a computer. Secondly, I can talk to God himself, and thirdly, through prayer I can join the spiritual battle for the salvation of the lost.
Paul reminded the Ephesian believers, "our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." And he urged them to "Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests..."
Thank you for standing with us in the spiritual work of prayer. Pray that those who are captive to the powers of darkness would have their eyes opened, their bondage broken and find freedom in Christ. Pray that God's people in every place would be agents of peace and reconciliation. Pray that God would use the ministry of GRN to bring the truth to those who haven't heard.
Yours in Christ, Graydon Colville.
