Royalene and her husband, Graham, joined the mission as staff in 1984. They both had a background in building projects, Graham as a Services Engineer and Royalene as an Architect.

In GRN they designed and built the ten unit accommodation block on the Eastwood site. They also did a three month distribution trip to PNG with the focus on Bougainville.

When the mission relocated to Castle Hill they were involved in the Sydney office layout, building of project homes and relocating of staff.

In 1988 Graham was appointed Interim Director for South Africa for sixteen months until a new Director was appointed. Royalene also worked on publishing a revised "Good News" flip chart.

Graham and Royalene undertook deputation trips to south-west Queensland and Tasmania before retiring in 1994 when they moved to the Gold Coast for health reasons.

After Graham died in May 2004, Royalene was seeking the Lord as to her future. A thought came: "Go back to your first love - mission". So it was back to GRN as a volunteer in the Sydney office to help in the promotional side of the work. Because of her architectural background, she also helps manage the maintenance of GRN property.

Royalene has three married children and ten grandchildren. She has been involved over the years with the Uniting Church and presently attends the UCA Parramatta Mission. Her on-going testimony is the sufficiency of the strength of the Lord each day and her desire to praise the Almighty, the God of Creation.
