Tekst van het script

One man named Gumasi was very wicked. He killed and robbed many people. The government arrested him and put him in prison. He was to be put to death (hung) as punishment for his evils. He said goodbye to his wife and children. They cried because they would not see him again. The day came near when he was to die. Gumasi was frightened.

Another man named Tabakosi liked Gumasi very much. Tabakosi went to the Governor and asked if he could die in the place of Gumasi. The Governor knew Tabakosi was a good man. The Governor approved his request, and later the soldiers took Tabakosi out and put him to death (hung him from the gallows). Tabakosi died in the place of Gumasi.

Gumasi did not know this had happened. He waited in prison for the soldiers (police) to come and put him to death. But the soldiers did not come. Not long afterwards an orderly came and said, "YOU CAN GO TO YOUR VILLAGE. YOU ARE FINISHED WITH PRISON!" Gumasi didn't know if he spoke the truth or not. He said, "Do you speak true words?" "YES, GUMASI, IT IS TRUE. YOU LOOK AT THIS PAPER. IT SAYS YOU ARE FREE FROM YOUR PUNISHMENT." "What about my punishment?" "YOUR FRIEND NAMED TABAKOSI ASKED TO TAKE YOUR PUNISHMENT. HE WAS PUT TO DEATH (HUNG) INSTEAD OF YOU." "He did this for me?" "YES, GUMASI, I THINK THIS MAN, TABAKOSI, HE LIKED YOU VERY MUCH." "Why should he like me? I never did anything good for him."

Gumasi went to his village a changed man. He didn't forget this man who had died for him. (PAUSE 2 SEC.)

Today you and I are sinners before God. The punishment of our sins is death, and hell. But Jesus, God's Son, came down from heaven to this world. He took the punishment of our sins. Jesus doesn't want us to go to hell when we die. That is why He died for our sins on the cross.

If you believe God's Words, you say this prayer to Him: "God, I thank you for sending Jesus to this world to die for my sins on the cross. He shed His blood to save me. Forgive my sins. Jesus, come into my heart and give me eternal life. I will follow You. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

God raised Jesus from the dead. He lives in heaven today. If you pray to Jesus, and take Him for your Saviour, He will give you His life that will never finish.
