The Initial results of the Optimus Study on child abuse in 2015 show that by the time South African children are 15 -17 years old, many of them had already experienced sexual, physical or emotional abuse, neglect, or had been exposed to high levels of family and community violence.
These children can be helped by Talking Tigers for Toddlers ... decent Tigers. They're saved by Grace and sent by Grace to share the Gospel Message with their kiddo friends.
But more important, they council, comfort and encourage children in need.
Press the soft toy's belly button, and it shares some essential information about God, and how He cares about you and your circumstances.
The toy also shares information such as Helpline numbers and websites where children can report abuse and ask for help. (The information depends on the language area and the organisations we work with in the local context.)
This is a joint project Global Recordings Network Southern Africa (GRNSA) runs in partnership with:
- MegaVoice, who manufactured the Envoy S or Envoy S Dual player, and
- Wildlife Storytellers who designed and manufactured the animals.
GRNSA developed the audio content for this project.
You can be part of this project and support a child in need by sponsoring a gentle Talking Tiger for a special toddler out there who desperately needs to know God and His love.
- The price of the Envoy is R385. 00. It makes the toy a bit more expensive, but the player is a much better quality and also makes navigation between specific chats the facilitators may want children to listen to, easier. The price of the soft toy also changed. R205.00 now. Due to the volatile Rand.Price of unit R590.00.
Read more about this project in Wildlife STORYTELLERS.
GRNSA has prepared a letter in Afrikaans and also in English - Tumi, The Talking Soft Toy Tiger Buddy. This letter contains detailed information about the content and functions of Tumi, including a summary of each of the messages. The letter is suitable for distribution to people who may be interested in this project.
Trauma is a real and definite obstacle for children in South Africa to understand and embrace God's Love and deliverance. Many need a life line first before they can accept Christ as their Saviour.
