Our GRN reporter visited Roland Heck to speak about GRN.
GRN: How long have you been with GRN?
Roland: I joined Global Recordings in 2009.
GRN: What are your primary duties?
Roland: My role is serving as USA Mobilization Director. I promote and publicize the mission and its vision with individuals/churches/organizations and serve on the USA Leadership team.
GRN: What is your background?
Roland: Our family is truly cross cultural. Both of my parents came from Germany and met in San Francisco while taking English classes. My wife, Kieng came to the US as a refugee from Cambodia in her teen years. I became a Christian when Billy Graham gave an invitation to receive Christ. I committed to serve the Lord in cross cultural missions during our church's missions conference. In 1997 our family moved to Thailand, and two years later to Cambodia. We served overseas until 2008.
GRN: What led you to GRN?
Roland: My wife and I were involved in reaching oral learners while in Cambodia. When I discovered GRN was spreading the gospel to oral learners (70% of the world) and those without any scripture I was immediately drawn to their strategic and highly important ministry.
GRN: What is your passion?
Roland: My great passion is to develop partnerships and network opportunities for our mission. GRN is in a unique position to work side by side with other ministries and churches to spread the good news. My desire is to be a channel to help see the fulfillment of the Great Commission by giving every language group an opportunity to hear and receive Jesus in their own heart language!
GRN: Do you have a particular scripture that inspires your life and ministry?
Roland: Our life verse is: "No one who trusts God like this- heart and soul- will ever regret it" (Romans 10:11, The Message.) "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." (KJV) Matthew 24:14
