GRN: Where are you from Marissa?
Marissa: I was born in Olongopo, Philippines, then came to the US at the age of 3 and traveled mostly around California as a military dependent.
GRN: What was it about GRN that made you apply for staff membership?
Marissa: I was initially called to GRN as a volunteer but the Lord had different plans. God worked on my heart to see the importance and blessing of a fulltime commitment.
GRN: What are the duties of your job?
Marissa: I work in the finance department as a bookkeeper doing a range of things from paying bills to running payroll.
GRN: How does your job help GRN to achieve its goals?
Marissa: Through the donations of our partners the finance department sees to it that funding gets to our missionaries all over the world so they can continue the work of reaching unengaged people groups with the gospel of Christ in their own languages.
GRN: Do you have any previous experience that prepared you for this position?
Marissa: I hold an associate degree in Business Administration and CTEC license (for tax preparation).
GRN: Do you have a favorite Bible verse?
Marissa: I love Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praise worthy - meditate on these things.
GRN: What is your passion?
Marissa: To serve my King and glorify Him in all things I do. I long to hear Matthew 23:21, "well done good and faithful servant"
GRN: Do you have a hobby or favorite activity?
Marissa: I enjoy camping with my family and am always up for a competitive game of softball.
GRN: What do you like most about working at GRN?
Marissa: The fellowship. Any given time we can talk to anyone about how God is working in our lives, have discussions about scriptures and praying for one another.
GRN: What are your future aspirations?
Marissa: I would love to one day go to Bible School then eventually obtain a bachelor's degree in finance/accounting/business admin.
