GRN: Where are you both from?
Ralph: I grew up in a Christian home in Greenville, South Carolina.
Ruth: I also grew up in a Christian home, in South Pasadena, California.
GRN: How did you learn about GRN?
Ralph: I first heard of GRN when Joy Ridderhof, the founder, visited Ben Lippen High School and shared about the ministry. Later Joy visited my parent's home in Greenville and my church, the Greenville Christian Fellowship.
Ruth: I learned about Gospel Recordings through my parents and from GR missionaries who attended our church. God called me to work at GR with verses from Hebrews 12:1-2 and gave me peace and assurance that this was His plan for my life.
GRN: How long have you worked with GRN?
Ruth: I joined GR in 1985 and Ralph joined earlier in 1981.
GRN: Ralph, what are your responsibilities at GRN?
Ralph: I'm the Finance Director for GRN USA and also handle accounting for our international umbrella organization.
GRN: How did you qualify for this job?
Ralph: I obtained my finance degree at Clemson University in South Carolina and attended Bible School at the Evangelical Institute in Greenville.
GRN: How does your job further the aims of GRN?
Ralph: There are many ways. First, GRN wants to be accountable to our faithful donors with accurate reports and receipts. We also need to be accountable to the government. But most important we need to get the funds out to our GRN teams worldwide so they can get the gospel to the unreached language groups via the recordings in their languages.
GRN: What do you enjoy most about serving with GRN?
Ruth: I enjoy participating in the Wednesday morning Praise and Prayer times. It's a time of praising for what God will do and has done. It's a time to pray for missionaries and the "least reached" unsaved that the Lord will open the way for the gospel to be proclaimed and received in the hearts of many worldwide for His glory.
GRN: Do you have children?
Ruth: Yes, we have two sons: Matthew, a college-age adult, and Nathaniel, a high schooler.
GRN: Do you have a specific prayer request?
Ralph: Yes, Ruth and I ask you to pray that we will steadfastly read and meditate on the Word of God and continue fervently in prayer daily.
GRN: Do you have a Bible verse that has special meaning to you?
Ruth: Yes, Ralph and I have chosen together the following life verses. "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33.) and "God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work." (2 Corinthians 9:8.)
