Interview with Ross and Jan Lange
GRN: Ross, what are your responsibilities at GRN?
Ross: As the International Ministries Director for GRN USA, I work with the directors of the Global Recordings Network centers and bases worldwide and help to coordinate the recording and distribution follow-up. This requires much correspondence and clear communication. I have my office behind our home in Los Angeles.
GRN: Jan, you have completely different responsibilities, don't you?
Jan: That's true. I'm the GRN Prayer Secretary. I really believe in the power of prayer so I love this job. GRN workers worldwide send me prayer requests and I distribute them to our prayer network. I have to disguise a country name or other details for security purposes for difficult countries. From time to time we get emergency requests and I send them to the network right away.
GRN: Tell us how you came to know the Lord.
Jan: Ross was led to the Lord by his mother at an early age and at the age of seventeen, I responded to the Lord when a high school friend invited me to special evangelistic meetings at her church.
GRN: What did you do prior to coming to GRN?
Ross: Jan and I both worked for Every Home for Christ for 25 years. During that time I often came to GR to volunteer pressing phonograph records. After serving in that ministry to reach the literate people of the world, God called us to GRN in 1986 to help reach the illiterate.
GRN: What are your other interests?
Jan: We both have a tremendous heart for the lost and are actively involved in the missions' outreach of our local church. We are grateful for the support and encouragement of friends and leaders of our church for the ministries God gave us. God also gave us a ministry to write to, and visit, inmates in several prisons. We also help those recovering from addictions.
GRN: Do you have a favorite scripture verse?
Ross: Proverbs 3: 5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." These words guide and direct not only our personal lives, but our ministry to others as well.
GRN: How can we pray for you?
Ross: We both need physical and spiritual strength for GRN work and for our personal ministry. Jan has rheumatoid arthritis, pray that God will grant her better mobility and movement. We appreciate and need prayer for safety and wisdom. Pray that His love will be poured out through us, and that many lives will be change for Jesus through the ministries He gives us.
