GRN: How long have you been working for GRN?
Roland: We moved to Los Angeles from our hometown Kansas City, Kansas, to join the ministry in 1977.
Irene: We had heard about GRN (called Gospel Recordings at that time,) from a field recordist whose parents attended our home church. Roland's parents also spent several winters in LA and volunteered at the GR office.
GRN: What persuaded you to move to California and start a new life?
Roland: In 1976, our family visited GR on vacation. Upon our returning home, the Lord impressed both us with the call to serve full-time in missions. The vision and the goal of reaching those remote groups who would have no other way to hear the Gospel became an irresistible force, drawing us to the work of GRN.
GRN: What roles have you both filled at GRN?
Irene: Through the years we have helped in many capacities, wherever there was a task needing to be done-from pressing records to writing articles for GRN publications. Roland has been shipping manager since 1979, and I currently serve as an executive assistant.
GRN: How do you see the future?
Roland: Our prayer is that God would continue to use us as instruments to reach the least, the last, and the lost. The initial goal and vision of GRN continues to spur our service. In everything, we desire to "work heartily as unto the Lord."
Irene: We also seek the Lord's leading in the lives of our four adult children and five grandchildren.
GRN: Do you have a favorite Bible verse?
Roland: The verse that God gave us upon being called into ministry with the promise of His provision was: See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. (Isaiah 43:18-19.)
Roland and Irene are looking for those who will pray and uphold them in their work. Please prayerfully consider becoming a part of their support team as the Lord leads.
