What is PROJECT INDIA?
PROJECT INDIA is an evangelism initiative aimed at oral societies and language groups of India that have no viable churches and little or no Christian witness. The goal is to tell Bible stories using an audio format with complementary pictures to illustrate the message. Plans are being made to provide the gospel of Jesus Christ in 1,000 languages of this nation by 2016.
We are not saying we will do this all on our own. But we do have a vision to see it done. Whenever possible, we will work in close partnership with local churches and mission agencies to ensure that all languages have an effective presentation of the gospel.
What a challenge! It will require us to research, record and distribute faster and more effectively than ever before. It will require more staff and resources. It will require the prayer and financial support of God's people. It will demand from us the very best we have to give for God. And most importantly, it will take God working powerfully through us in answer to the prayers of His people. PROJECT INDIA is so far beyond us that unless He does it, it is not going to happen!
Will you join us as we make the truth of God's Word available to those who don't have it and to those who can't read it?
5 WAYS YOU CAN BE INVOLVED IN PROJECT INDIA
1. BECOME A PRAYER PARTNER - Prayer for India is vital for accomplishing God's work in that nation. Help the work advance by joining our prayer team.
2. SHARE THE VISION - Be an advocate in your church and mobilize members to be part of PROJECT INDIA. Show a PowerPoint, give out literature, share prayer requests, etc. You could also visit churches and schools in your area and help more people become aware of our work and involved in reaching the lost.
3. SPONSOR A LANGUAGE OR RECORDING TEAM - It costs US$2000 on average to record a language in India. Why not encourage your church to "adopt" one language as a project? Yard sales, car washes, as well as general giving can generate the resources. Or help support a national recording team with a monthly gift so they can continue their assignment.
4. WORK ON A RECORDING TEAM - Become a recordist, researcher or line up specialist - we'll train you! The work is challenging, but you may have the joy of being the first one to give the gospel to an unreached Indian people group.
5. GIFTS IN KIND AND BEQUESTS - Gifts of real estate, automobiles, wills, insurance policies, gift annuities and bequests, etc., can be used to resource the recording of several Indian languages.
