What they did on Wokabaut

"Carl, a graduate from Christan Leaders Training College, who had organised the recording program for the languages gave excellent cross cultural orientation to the area and the people. He also taught some language learning skills to the Australians which was extremly helpful."

"The 3 medicos in the team especially appreciated the visit we made to Kapuna Hospital in a very remote place. They were able to see how a one doctor hospital is run.

"It was exciting to see peoples interest and attention to the Bible pictures and Gospel messages on cassette. We sold cassettes in Kerewo, and the people were so keen to buy that we sold out in no time. We had to tell others that we could get more copies to them at a later date."

"We returned to Moresby where the team was given the opportunity to live in a "city village", go to a PNG wedding and witness the opening of a new church tent in a suburb notorious for rascal activity."

What they found on Wokabaut

"God has answered our prayers in a very visible way. We have been blessed so abundantly - although the people we were staying with were poor, God always provided food, water and shelter. He also blessed us with safety and good health. I could really feel God's guiding and protecting hand upon us. It was incredible to experience the lifting of darkness and oppression after prayer when we were under spiritual attack."

"The things that impressed the Australians about the Papua New Guineans was the generous hospitality shown them and how people shared all they had."

"The christians strong faith to trust God to supply all their needs, the consciousness and discernment of the spirit world, the strong emphasis on spiritual warfare, prayer, and praising God made a great impact. The unity of the team and acceptance between the Papua New Guineans and Australians was great."

What they brought back from Wokabaut

"I have gained and increased awareness of the activities of satan and his forces, and methods he uses to attack Christians. I have become more aware of how to combat through prayer. The realities of spiritual warfare have also challenged me with regards to how I see my life at home and my priorities."

"I felt that God is really challenging me about what it means to follow Jesus and I know also He is saying to me that I really need to grow up in my faith. I can feel God drawing me closer and just teaching me so much and for this I rejoice!"

"Wokabaut has made me more aware of how much of the world lives in poverty and without access to the gospel and good teaching that I enjoy. It has given me a desire to know God in a deeper way and to be more effective/available."

"Wokabaut has changed me by exposing me to spiritual warefare and challenging my views and priorities in life. It has been an experience which has caused me to think deeply about what it means to follow Jesus."

"I greatly enjoyed Wokabaut and learned a lot. My one disapointment was that we didn't spend more time in the villages, doing more distribution and evangelism. Maybe this was God's doing however."

"The most valuable experience of my life. It's one thing to live with people of different cultures in Australia, it's another thing to immerse yourself in another culture. I have grown emotionally and spiritually as God has met and superseeded every challenge that this trip has laid before Him. It has confirmed to my heart that God wants me in cross cultural work, but it has also made me aware of how hard it is. I can't do it myself. Christ has to do it through me. I think there is still too much of 'me' alive."

"Life changing, people need to experience Wokabaut to open their hearts up and gain a hands on mission experience."
