Somewhere on the mountain slopes in the picture on the left is a small village high in the Andes Mountains of Peru. The small white dots are the villagers homes. A team of recordists from our Peru base traveled and trekked for hours to get to that village to tape gospel stories for the people.

Meanwhile, miles away in the Amazon rain forest shown in the picture on the right, another recording team flew by small plane deep into the jungle to tape messages for people with little understanding of who Jesus is.

These teams are part of the GRN push to provide the good news for oral cultures in South America where the spoken word is essential for non-literate peoples. And do we ever have a great message to deliver!

God has a special plan for all of our lives. He is concerned for us down to the smallest detail. He even knows the number of hairs on our heads. This is true not just for those of us living in nations with a long history and heritage of knowing the Lord, but also for those living in the Amazon rain forests or high in the Andes Mountains. He knows every one of the people by name. He is mindful of their fears. He sees their tears and hears their cries. He knows their desires and longs for them to know Him.

This is the great message with which we have been entrusted to proclaim and we want to share it as widely as we can. For this reason we are expanding our work in South America under the banner of The Americas Project. The purpose of this project is to mobilize prayer and resources so that our teams can increasingly and more rapidly take the gospel to places where it has not yet gone. What a privilege to deliver the good news to the least-reached peoples and to let them know that there is One who cares so very much for them and has a wonderful plan for their lives.

Pictures above show the Peru team of Elda, Damaris and Veronica sharing message tapes with people who speak the Quechua: Arequipa language.
