Assignment: Distribution
Distribution is hard work. It often involves difficult travel and living conditions. But along with recording the Gospel, it's part of the GRN job and the results are exciting! Here are some of the stories James and his team brought back from their last distribution trip to northern Bangladesh early this year.
Pastor Hekim P
Pastor Hekim P. is from a Garo Baptist Church. He received some 'Good News' flipcharts from his mission centre. The material has been used among the children in his church who speak ACHICK. He reported that the children were very interested in the pictures. These enabled them to remember the stories of Jesus.
He wants to have more GRN materials for his evangelical work in his village where a lot of people are not yet believers.
Pastor Neheru R
Pastor Neheru R. has been pastoring the Baptist Church at Dhubaura, Mymensingh for five years. Pastor Neheru attended the pastors' conference in 2006 at Rajendrapur where GRN had a stall. He bought some of the GRN materials for use in his church.
Since then he has been using the flipcharts in his church school and Sunday school among the ABENG language group. Some of the children were from unbelieving families. He reported that the picture books were very effective in communicating the Gospel. They helped the children recall the stories of Jesus so easily.
As a result of his teaching, many of them came to learn about Christ. Every year some accepted Him as their own Saviour.
Pastor John R
Pastor John R. has been doing evangelical work for the last 20 years at a mission in Mymensingh among the GARO language group. 13 years ago an Australian missionary presented him with a Messenger handwind cassette player and some of the GRN Look, Listen and Live flipcharts, for the work in his own village. He used them among the non-literate people and the children to share the message of Jesus Christ.
He reported that every year in his village, 8 to 10 young boys and girls accept Christ. Out of those believers some have now become evangelists themselves, and they are also using the GRN materials in other villages. He is so grateful to GRN Bangladesh for supplying the picture books which have been very effective for communicating the Gospel.
