Winston O. Omenya is the Director of GRN Kenya

Winston O. Omenya was born in Siaya District, Kenya in 1951. He married in 1978 to Judith Margaret. His wife, Judith is a teacher by profession, at the Kenya Technical Teachers College (KTTC) since 1993. She completed the 7 years of (BSF) Bible Study Fellowship course and is a member of Women's and Holy Communion Ministries of their local church.

The Lord has blessed them with three grown up children. Linda completed a B.A and a Masters degree in French and Translation Studies after her B.A in Linguistics from Kenyatta University. She now works in Paris France. Daniel obtained a B.A. degree in sociology at KU and works for Kenya Airways. Rhoda completed a B.A degree in Environmental Planning and Community development and is working.

In the Vineyard of the Lord

Winston serves in the Counseling & Discipleship ministries and also leads the neighborhood Bible Study group of their local church - Nairobi Pentecostal Church, Valley Road where he also serves as a Church Elder. He attended the Kenya House of Prayer and is also a prayer partner with TBN (Family Media). Winston has a passion for intercessory prayers and Biblical counseling.

Educational Achievements

Winston went to school locally in Kenya to university level. He holds a B.Com (Upper 2nd Class Honors) degree in Marketing and Business Administration from the University of Nairobi (1976). On July 7, 2007 Winston and Judith both graduated with a Masters degree in Theology (Christian Education) from Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (NEGST) and now pursues a PhD in Development Theology on-line from a US College.

Professional

Before joining mission work, Winston acquired several professional qualifications in Sales and Marketing as well as other qualifications in middle level and senior management. In March 1998 he was exposed to computer training. Finally in August of the same year he acquired a certificate in Managing the Human Resource for Line Managers.

Working Experience

Winston worked as a field Sales Executive in West Africa with Coca Cola Africa Limited, covering Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia and other English-speaking countries. He then joined the Nation Media Group (the leading media house in East and Central Africa) rising through the ranks to their National Sales Manager until he left in 2001. In mid-1986 he established and became Branch Manager of the Nation's largest branch in the coastal town of Mombasa until 1992 when he became Sales Manager and went back to the Nairobi head-office where he was, at the time, in charge of a sales portfolio of Ksh180 million a year.

In 1997 Winston was appointed the National Sales Manager and put in charge of a sales budget of Ksh400 million (US $5 million) a year. In these senior positions, he gained managerial experience through successive training programs sponsored by the company.

Evangelism

Winston and Judith both hold certificates in Evangelism from their local church and have a burden for the un-reached souls. They have continued to pray for their relatives, friends and workmates who are not yet born again. Winston has a personal ministry of buying and giving Bibles to those who do not have them.
