Dear Friends of GRN,
GRN Australia is definitely in a time of change! You have heard about the change of location (more about that later) but you may not have heard about the change of leadership soon to take place.
A new National Director
At the GRN International Council meetings last April, several changes to the international structure of the mission were adopted. This included creating a new position of International Director. In early June the Council voted to appoint me to that position, and with the encouragement and support of the GRN Australia Board, I have accepted the position. I will take it up full time in about April next year.
I do not feel adequate for the task, but by God's grace and your prayers I hope to be able to serve the network. I will continue to work from the (new) Australian office but will no longer be responsible for the leadership of the ministry in Australia.
This means that GRN Australia is searching for a new National Director - always a challenging and difficult task. Therefore I am writing to ask you to make this a priority matter for prayer.
The Board has appointed a "search committee" to spearhead this task. I want to encourage you to communicate with this committee if there is something you want to say. Maybe you know of a missionary returning from overseas who may be a suitable candidate. Please let us know. Maybe you just want to send a word of encouragement or something from the Scriptures. GRN is a family and this is an important family matter. We want you to feel a part of the process. You can write to the "CEO Search Committee" via the office or by email AusCEOsearch.
I also would very much appreciate your ongoing prayer for me as I take on this new challenge. If you would like to go on my own personal prayer and news letter list, please send an email to Graydon Colville
The new GRN Australia Office
We give thanks and praise to God for having guided us and provided what has been necessary for this move. There have been plenty of challenges in the process and not everything has gone smoothly but we were able to take possession of the new building at 36 Stoddart Rd Prospect NSW on June 28th. The very next day we took the staff there to pray and sing praises to God as an unofficial dedication of the building. The official opening and dedication will take place early next year. We will make sure you receive an invitation!
More than $500,000 of interest free loans and special gifts totalling $70,000 were a great help and blessing in this process. We are excited at the prospect (no pun intended!) of what God is planning to do in and through GRN Australia in the days ahead with this property.
With the extra space and better facilities we will certainly be ready for more people to come into the ministry. Please continue to pray with us in this regard. An added bonus with the new building is the capacity to host other missions who need some space. We are talking with a couple of missions about this already.
However, before we move in, there is much work to be done. We will be building six new sound processing studios and manufacturing facilities. We will need to set up IT and communications infrastructure and office areas and... we will need to move everything from the Castle Hill office!
We hope to be able to move in November but it is too soon to be sure. A Development Application is being prepared and submitted to Blacktown Council. Construction won't start until that approval is obtained.
Be assured that we will give plenty of notice about our new contact details closer to the move. We don't want to lose contact with you. Email addresses will, of course, not change.
We are so thankful to God for the way he has undertaken in every detail so far. Of the three properties we planned to sell to help finance the move, two have been settled and the third (the Castle Hill office) is now under contract and will settle next April. It means we are not under any pressure to move out in an hurry.
Thank you for being with us through these changes and praise God with us that he is a changeless yet always relevant God. While there are still those who do not know this one true God our work is not done, so we look forward to further years of fellowship and ministry with you.
Yours in the work of the Kingdom
National Director
