"In the world you will have trouble." (John 16:33) Thankfully, for most of us, it is not trouble all the time. Thankfully also, in the midst of trouble we can have joy and peace! But 'trouble' of one kind or another is to be expected when we seek to live for God. It is also good to know that 'the trouble' is included in the 'all things' in which God works for our good (Romans 8:28). The challenge is to respond to trouble in such a way that furthers the cause of Christ and results in us becoming more like Jesus.
A report from our team in Nepal recently described some of the troubles they encountered as they worked to bring the good news of Jesus to those who need to hear it: trouble with transport arrangements, trouble with sickness, trouble from people who opposed what they were doing, trouble because the people who agreed to help them (non-Christians) were drunk most of the time and unreliable, trouble with equipment!
During the trip they found several people groups where there were no believers. In one group they found only one believer desperately in need of encouragement. They persevered through the troubles and, as a result, these and other people groups will soon be able to hear the Gospel in the language that speaks to their hearts.
Please pray for our recordists and field teams around the world who daily face these kinds of problems in order make Good News available to those who otherwise would probably never hear it. Pray that the recordings would help bring many to Christ.
Yours in Christ's service,
