Greg is a Linguist with field experience in Asia and the Pacific, researching minority languages and speech communities, and developing writing systems for them. He also has commercial experience, supervising translation and publication projects in both minor and major languages, and major language processing projects for technology applications by multinational corporations and governments.
GRN has asked Greg to assist in the tracking and research of minority languages and dialects, in order to facilitate the prioritising and planning of audio recordings. He is also supervising training, for GRN recordists and surveyors, in language awareness, introductory linguistics, sociolinguistic surveying, translation principles and language documentation.
In addition, Greg is very keen to participate in developing and strengthening partnerships between GRN and other organisations and institutions that have interests in minority languages.
Elsa is well-experienced in indigenous literacy development in Asia. She has been teaching, on a casual basis, English as a Second Language to new arrivals in a high school and a college, and general education in primary schools and tuition centres.
They have three children: David, a web designer (married to Kerryn, a nurse), Boaz, an indoor climbing centre manager, and Cherry, an agricultural science student.
