Recordings need to be used! Often GRN Teams will use other materials as well as GRN materials to help tell the gospel story. Frequently they face opposition. This story is told by GRN distributor Jean Ndongo.
Nkolassan is a village in a predominantly Catholic area. When we arrived a large family of nearly fifty members took us in and provided accommodation for us for four days. Each evening we set up our equipment, showing a Christian film in different locations. The people were interested because films like this were not a common occurrence for them. They not only listened to the gospel in their own language during the film, but at the end of the evening they received GRN gospel cassettes in their own language.
The last day we projected a documentary on sexually transmitted disease. The arresting testimony of many patients has touched the hearts of many young ones.
During our stay in the village, the head of the large family who had given us lodging was taken aside by the local priest. The priest reprimanded him for authorising evangelism in his village. The man told us he was very upset, so much so that we had to leave the village immediately - that very night. We nevertheless counselled him not to be afraid, "He" who sent us will surely protect the family who accepts Jesus as its Saviour and Lord.
We have always known that where the Lord is at work, the enemy does not fail to come and sow trouble.
