MEXICO: A Great Harvest
We rejoice that almost 6000 cassettes were given out and 3500 Indians made a decision for Christ in the agricultural camps of Culiacan in 2006! When we speak of thousands of Indians, it is easy to lose sight of each person, each brown face with timid or fearful or tired or sparkling eyes. Praise God that Jesus Christ brings new life to individuals.
NEPAL: Political Protests
The recent political upheavel, including massive food shortages, made life very difficult for our team in Kathmandu. The dangerous and unsettled conditions throughout Nepal have made it increasingly precarious for many ministries including ours. While our team members have been protected thus far, the gospel is being held back from many who so desperately need hope.
ETHIOPIA: Recordings Blitz
Recording teams from West Africa are making plans to begin recording in 15 language groups. Eighty-four languages are spoken in Ethiopia and 76% of the population is illiterate. While recordings are available in the majority of the languages and dialects, we will not rest until everyone can hear the good news of Jesus in their own heart language.
INDIA: Project India
Many obstacles have hindered this recording initiative. However a major planning meeting this month aims to get things back on track. The India leadership, together with GRN international coordinator Doug Armstrong, USA director Colin Stott and several senior India recordists will confer and seek God's direction for the project. With over 1200 vernacular languages with little or no Christian resources, the task is huge but our God is able!
THAILAND: Building Project
The GRN team in Chiang Mai is rejoicing over God's provision of funds enabling them to purchase a parcel of land for development. The next step will be to formulate building plans for an office, studios and some staff housing facilities.
