That's a Good Question! - by Allan Starling

When we attempt to communicate the Gospel to people of other cultures and languages we encounter many barriers. The recordings are uniquely effective in overcoming these barriers. Let's take a brief look at some of them.

The Political Barrier often stops missionaries from entering countries opposed to the Gospel, but the recordings find their way into these places where others can't go.

The Religious Barrier makes it difficult for many people to openly attend Christian gatherings, especially in Islamic and Hindu nations, but they can listen to the recordings in private.

The Literacy Barrier robs almost two billion nonreaders of the benefits of Christian literature. Fortunately, they can listen to the message on the cassettes. And the Scripture reminds us that faith comes by hearing.

The Manpower Barrier is still a reality. There are many places worldwide where people have never heard the Gospel message. The recordings multiply the voice of the pastor and missionary, and many hear who otherwise would not.

The Language Barrier is one of the biggest hindrances to communication. Evangelistic recordings are now effectively preaching in nearly 6000 languages and dialects.

There is one more barrier that plastic cassettes alone cannot penetrate. The Spiritual Barrier darkens the hearts and minds of the listeners. But as we pray, the Holy Spirit takes the words on the tapes and applies them to the hearts of the hearers. Thousands turn to Christ after listening.

Use our Together in Prayer daily prayer guide and pray for the effective use of the cassettes "where they are made and where they are played".
